Saadhak and cauanzin fist bump during Valorant Champions 2023

The biggest and grandest stage of Valorant’s 2024 season is just around the corner as the Valorant Champions Seoul will happen from August 1 to 25 in Seoul and Incheon in South Korea. After being hosted by Berlin, Istanbul, and Los Angeles for the past four years, Valorant’s biggest stage comes to Asia where 16 teams from four regions will finally meet each other. Since defending champions Evil Geniuses failed to qualify for this year’s Champions, the trophy is open for anyone to lift and take home.

Valorant Champions Seoul Qualifications

Sixteen teams from Valorant’s four international leagues – Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Pacific, and China – will go to Seoul to compete for the world championship title. The top 3 teams from the Stage 2 events from these four international leagues are automatically qualified for Champions Seoul. Aside from these 12 teams, the team with the highest VCT point per international league also qualifies for Champions. Qualified teams from the Americas are Leviatan, G2 Esports, KRU Esports, and Sentinels.

Representing China are EDward Gaming, FunPlus Phoenix, Trace Esports, and Bilibili Gaming. From EMEA are Fnatic, Team Vitality, Team Heretics, and FUT Esports. Last but not least, from the Pacific League are Gen. G Esports, DRX, Paper Rex, and Talon Esports. All of these teams are extremely talented and will be putting in their best performances to ensure they add another trophy.

Valorant Champions Seoul Format

Champions Seoul begins with the group stage where the sixteen teams are divided into four groups of four teams each. In the group stage, all matches are best-of-three, and the top two teams from each group advance to the playoffs. The team who loses twice during the group stage will be eliminated. That gives everyone at least one chance to have an off outing and still remain in the competition.

The playoffs will be a double-elimination bracket with all matches being best-of-three, except for the lower bracket final and grand final which are best-of-five. Group A consists of Fnatic, DRX, KRU Esports, and Bilibili Gaming. Group B consists of Gen.G Esports, FunPlus Phoenix, Team Heretics, and Sentinels. Group C consists of Leviatan, Team Vitality, Trace Esports, and Talon Esports. Lastly, Group D consists of EDward Gaming, G2 Esports, Paper Rex, and FUT Esports.
