We’ve all seen the Metroid Prime 4: Beyond trailer. We’ve all had our mini freakouts (raises hand). But would we be responsible players, nay, fans of the franchise, if we didn’t have questions about this long-awaited addition? So, let the interrogation begin! Here are three questions fans have for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond!
1. Who is the Big Bad in Metroid Prime 4?
There’s always a leadup to enemy #1. If there aren’t trailers hinting about it, there are clues in the prequels that we can use to make those predictions. But who is the Big Bad in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond? All the indicators point toward another bounty hunter named Sylux, who hates the Galactic Federation and anyone associated with them.
In the secret ending of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Metroid Prime: Federation, the stage was set for him to return to the games to fight against Samus Aran again. I want to put forth a prediction though. I believe, if he does show up, it will be enemies at first until the true Big Bad shows up and they become reluctant allies.
2. Will Samus Lose Her Usual Abilities?
We see in the new Metroid Prime 4: Beyond trailer that Samus Aran gains new abilities. Ancient psychic abilities are given to her at certain points in the game. Now, I don’t wanna be that person, but why? Samus Aran already had an arsenal of tried and true abilities from her earlier adventures. How are the devs planning on incorporating them together to make it look like a natural progression?
I need answers, devs! I just hope it’s not for a cliche reason. Despite all the harsh criticisms of the Metroid Prime franchise, I have been a fan for years and would love to see Metroid Prime 4: Beyond do well! So, we’ll just cross our fingers that her new abilities complement the ones she already has!
3. Who Are The Beings That Summoned Samus?
Speaking of cliches, let me do one of my own. I want to know who these beings are that summoned Samus to Viewros! It’s always an important question to ask! What do they want? How were they able to summon her? It’s a space and tech-themed video game I’m going to need a solid reason why metaphysics came to the stage!
