Video games have become a popular source for TV series in the past half-decade. Video game developers are consistently improving their graphics and story plots and replicating real-life scenarios very well lately. A prime example is The Last of Us series on HBO, which is an incredible representation of a video game turning into a real-life TV series. With the question in many gamers’ minds, what video games will be next for a live TV series? Here are three games that would do great as a TV series. Oh, and no spoilers will be revealed here!
Life Is Strange One Of The Best Video Games To Adapt
Square Enix began this beautiful, thought-provoking series in 2015. Chloe and Max have an interesting story, yet different perspectives. The video game series makes you think carefully about your decisions (or very quickly in some cases). In a TV series, we would be able to see a video game that represents many of us in different ways. If you have not played the game, you would be amazed seeing it on a live TV show for the first time. Very similar to a real-life representation of personal feelings and emotions. You may want to have some tissues next to you!
The Quarry
This game would be absolutely perfect for a TV series! Nine camp counselors make their own decisions throughout the game. Imagine you’re a young adult having a job, hanging out with your friends simultaneously, and in the blink of an eye, trouble is upon you. Their decisions change the course of the story, whether for good, bad, or indifferent to themselves. Watching this horror game on live TV with a unique story instead of the cookie-cutter horror story plots would be groundbreaking (and possibly relatable to many, without the scary possessed monsters coming after you).
Until Dawn
We have seen many “reality TV shows” that have similar story plots in their own rights. Until Dawn is a game including eight friends having fun, working, and living a fun life. Excluding the creatures that are in the game, it would be preferred to see on a TV series (and definitely not in real life.) Romance, small disagreements, challenging decisions to make, and eye-opening moments that make you wonder, “What if this ever happened to me? What would I do?”
Final Thoughts
This seems like a viable list of video games that could be a win for both TV show makers and gamers, right? Decision-based games that could be split into multiple seasons due to their versatile options would keep viewers anxiously waiting for the newest episode. What are your thoughts? Any games that you think would be great as a live TV show?
