Most of us grew up playing video games as kids and that passion only grew as we got older. We might have played mobile or roleplay games as kids but now we play First-Person Shooter, or FPS, Games. We compiled a list for you of the 3 most popular games of 2024.
What Are FPS Games?

Many video game genres range from Role-Playing Games (RPGs) to First-Person Shooters (FPS). FPS games are weapon-based tactic games that take place from the character’s point of view, making it First-Person. In First-Person, you see everything through your character’s eyes like you’re the character itself.
FPS games differ from Third-Person Shooter (TPS) games because, in those games, you can see your character and everything around them. In Third-Person games you can see your character, everything around you, your character skins, gun skins, and things like that. In First-Person Shooter games, you can only see your character’s hands and their gun.

Apex Legends is one of the most popular FPS games in the world. Inside the game, you can play multiple different characters. You can even buy skins for your characters as well as guns. You can buy cosmetics such as Kill Banners, Death Boxes, Heirlooms, Emotes, and Sprays through the In-Game store and In-Game Currency.
There are many different game modes inside Apex Legends that you can play. The different game modes consist of a Battle Royale (BR) mode and a mixtape mode where its many different game modes that alternate. There are also different maps in the game that you will play on, and they alternate as well. Some of the maps are Storm Point, Kings Canyon, World’s Edge, and Olympus.
2. Call of Duty
Call of Duty is one of the oldest and most played FPS games in the world. Call of Duty has over 250 million active players currently playing the game. Activision has released over 23 different Call of Duty games for people to play; with that variety, more people can get into the FPS game. Call of Duty has many different game modes, including Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, and Warzone.
A few cosmetics that you can buy within Call of Duty are Premium Bundles, which include: gun skins, blueprints for guns, and other items. You can also buy the current season Battle Pass, CoD Points, and other Cosmetic Bundles. You can even collect an in-game currency called Cash and spend it in the game to get armor, kill streaks, and other useful equipment.
1. Overwatch 2
Overwatch 2 is one of the most competitive Player-versus-Player FPS games right now. Like Apex Legends, Overwatch 2 has a vast array of characters you can choose from to play, and they are in a different hero class. In Overwatch 2, there are different hero classes: Tank, Damage Per Second (DPS), and Support. Each hero has their own unique abilities, and when played correctly, you can win your games.
The Tank class takes most of the enemy damage for the team and creates space for their teammates. The DPS class does damage to the enemy team, their job is to do damage and get kills. The Support class keeps their teammates alive by providing healing when their teammates are low on health. Each class plays a significant part in the team’s success and even failure.
Cosmetics that you can buy within Overwatch 2 are the current season Battle Pass, Character Skins, and gold. You can use gold to buy locked characters, avatars, banners, sprays, and emotes.
