The entire Dragon Age franchise is a masterpiece of game design. The best thing about them is the developer’s world-building ability. They created an impressive world full of lore, complex political schemes, religious drama, compelling characters, and overall fantastic storytelling. While we’re still waiting for the release of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf its worth revisiting Inquisition.
Inquisition gave players everything they had been asking for from Origins, and Dragon Age 2. The improved combat systems, the ability to jump, and (in my best Iron Bull voice) badass dragon battles. Not to mention they give the players meaningful choices throughout the game that actually impact the state of your game world, like the impossible choice of sacrificing Bulls Chargers or not.
Not to mention how some choices affect how your companions view you, and how they interact with you. Like choosing to make Cole more human or more spirit will affect how Solas and Varric feel about you. With so many choices and possible outcomes, it’s the perfect adventure RPG to keep playing over and over again.
Hogwarts Legacy
If you’re like me you grew up with the Harry Potter series, I remember getting the new books every year for Christmas and waiting to buy the VHS tape after the movie was released. So when Hogwarts Legacy was announced Potterheads everywhere were stoked for this adventure RPG!
It was built using Unreal Engine 5 you can expect gorgeous immersive environments. The game syncs to your wizarding world profile to import your house (hey Hufflepuffs!), wand, and more. Explore Hogwarts and the surrounding areas while learning more about your mysterious ability to see and wield ancient magic. Not to mention stop the looming Wizard-Goblin war in the process.
