The hype continues to build for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 as we learn more about the game. This especially goes for the ones who have been serving the Emperor of Mankind and defending the Imperium since childhood. The first community update and a new trailer for the game were recently released, and gave us a first look at the different game modes players will get to enjoy. They also gave us many things to look forward to ahead of the September 9 release.
The Game Modes of Space Marine 2
There are a total of three game modes to play around with in Space Marine 2. In the campaign mode, usually the type of mode I enjoy the most, you will take on the role of Lieutenant Titus and his group of heavily armored companions. This mode will be playable solo or in co-op with up to 2 of your fellow Space Marines who are as loyal as you when using their capabilities to bring honor to the Imperium of Man.
In the Operations game mode, you’ll be able to pick one of 6 classes and work together with a team in hopes of taking on a dangerous xeno threat. This mode is a PvE mode that will be parallel to the campaign. For those who want to stand out amongst the armored crowd, you will be able to customize your very own Space Marine. I’ve seen a bit of what you can make yourself look like in the game, and I’ve become even more excited for release day since.
The third game mode is aptly named the Eternal War mode due to the ever-lasting battle between mortals and the forces of Chaos. This mode will be filled with intense 6v6 multiplayer battles, which draw in players who want to test their skills against other devoted fans of the franchise. In this mode as well as the Operations mode, you’ll be able to upgrade your classes with different perks as you play along.
More Information to Come
While the reveal of the game modes and customization is already getting both new and old Warhammer fans pumped for the upcoming release of Space Marine 2, there’s even more news to come ahead of that fateful day. According to the community update, we should expect to see even more trailers and short videos that highlight some of the game’s features. Those will include weapon showcases, breakdowns of the classes, progression, extra information about customization, and more.
There will be plentiful in-game screenshots scared as well since both Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment seem quite thrilled to show everyone what they have in store. There will also be even more community updates on the way around the end of each month. In the meantime, I’m sure fans around the world will be brushing up on their lore or perhaps diving into it for the first time. Personally, I’ve barely touched Warhammer. However, with each new bit of information, I ready myself to defend mankind and serve the Golden Throne.
