Palia update 1.80 may have been slightly delayed, but it has officially gone live! This update brings more friendship quests, more building options, and brings back a popular mini-game. Players are logging in by the thousands so some delays are expected. So while we wait, let’s talk about what this update has to offer.
Palia Update 1.80 Introduces New Plot Upgrades
One of the biggest parts of this Palia update is the new housing plot upgrades. Players can now upgrade the base of their home to the new (Eshe approved) Grand Harvest House! The Devs have also added building blocks like ramps and stairs to help make building your dream home easier.
Not to mention the pavers have finally arrived! Previously, players have used their ingenuity to create paths, steps, and more from the gourmet chopping blocks found in treasure chests. Now you can choose from a variety of pavers to create that perfect path through your gardens, courtyards, and flow-tree forests!
More Level 5 Friendship Quests
In the last update, Palia introduced level 5 friendship quests for Ashura, Reth, Tish, and Zeki. This update has introduced level 5 friendship for 3 more characters: Einar, Hekla, and Jina. More level 5 friendships are rumored to be in the making for the next patch as well (here’s to hoping it includes Hassian and Tau!).
This update of course comes with new chat options and a more in-depth look at the character’s history and personality. Like the previous update, the friendship quest rewards include a special furniture item for you to display in your new and improved home plot.
Black Market Hotpot
I’m sure Reth isn’t the only one excited about the return of the popular Maji Market mini-game! But for those who started playing after the Maji Market ended, the game is fairly simple. A group of 4 players starts the game at the Hotpot table, where each player receives 9 floating tiles. Each tile has an ingredient from one of the 8 tile groups. Make matches of three of a kind or three items from the same group to earn points.
Updated Palian Economy
One of the biggest undertakings of this update is the overhaul of the economic system inside Palia. The biggest change is the fact that the prices for goods from mining have been reduced. But the price for goods from other skills has been increased.
They also majorly rebalanced the crafting systems. Gold and silver no longer take 8 hours to forge, housing additions now take significantly less time to complete, and many of the furniture items have reduced requirements (although a few have actually increased too).
They are also increasing the rewards for certain milestones like furniture making. These rewards are also being retroactively awarded to players who have already reached these milestones. So be sure to check your mail for housing upgrades from Tish!
New Cosmetics
This Palia update has also brought in new cosmetics including the option for new pets! Everyone loves the palcats and their adorable color patterns. Players can now get Flutterfoxes, which are available in 5 different styles: leafy, spring, summer, winter, and autumn.
Also new to the cosmetics side of the game are tool skins! There are currently only three patterns available: spring sakura, empyreal, and leafy weave. There are plans to add more of these skins in the future, however.
