Hellraiser Revival Has Such Sights to Show You in New Gameplay Trailer
Get ready, horror freaks, because Saber Interactive just dropped a new gameplay trailer for the iconic game adaptation of the horror genre’s very own Hellraiser franchise. When the game was first announced in July, I could not fully express the excitement I had that a tried-and-true Hellraiser game was in development. Here’s what was shown in the new gameplay trailer.
Hellraiser Revival Reveals New Gameplay Trailer
Hellraiser Revival is a single-player survival horror game that follows Aidan on a quest to save his girlfriend, Sunny, who is consequently dragged to hell by demons called Cenobites after using a puzzle box called the Genesis Configuration. Aidan follows Sunny to hell to try and save her; however, he must go through waves of unholy enemies, cultists, and the iconic Cenobites who rule over this hellish dimension.
Hellraiser revival was first previewed at this year’s Gamescom HANDS-ON Preview. Players got a glimpse into this unholy masterpiece of a game, and the reaction was as we expected. I mean, they handed out vomit bags at the HANDS-ON Preview. If that doesn’t tell you what kind of game this is, I don’t know what will.
Trailer Highlights
The newest gameplay trailer that dropped yesterday shows even more of the visceral, twisted body horror the Hellraiser franchise is known for. From more sneak peeks at gameplay mechanics to all the sex-crazed deviants, cultists, and monsters from hell you have to encounter, the trailer reveals more about this disgusting festival of pleasure and gore. The most memorable imagery from the trailer was seeing Sunny bound, stabbed with sharp metal rods all over her body, and wearing a ring gag.
This game takes the film series and showcases what the franchise could’ve been without content restrictions and effects limitations. It’s hard, gritty, and builds on Clive Barker’s Hellraiser universe. There’s yet to be a release date for the game; however, it is set to release sometime next year, and I cannot wait for this game to drop.
