Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Full List of Every Confirmed Pokémon

So, you’ve seen the trailer. You’ve probably watched it a dozen times, dissecting every pixel for a hint of what was to come in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The return to Kalos, the futuristic Lumiose City—it all looked incredible.

Now that it has been released, though, fans have had very mixed reactions overall. It seems that the overall mechanics, including an incredibly long tutorial section, have turned some fans off to Z-A as a whole. It certainly has not yet impacted sales, though.

Still, catching your favorite Pokémon remains at the forefront, and something we can all get behind. So let’s cut to the chase. Any trainer wants to know: which Pokémon are we going to be catching?

Just listing them out is one thing, but some of these Pokémon deserve a closer look. What does their presence mean for the game? Let’s speculate wildly.

Sylveon: The Eeveelution Returns

Of course, Sylveon is back. It would be a crime to return to the region that introduced the Fairy type without its poster child. Sylveon was spotted prancing through the wireframe streets of Lumiose City in the trailer, confirming that at least one Eeveelution is in. Does this mean all of them are? Probably. Will we get a new one? Probably not, but a fan can dream.

Dragonite: The Original Dragon

Seeing Dragonite swoop in was a pleasant surprise. This Gen 1 powerhouse has always been a fan favorite, and its inclusion hints that Legends: Z-A won’t just be a Kalos-only affair. They seem to be pulling from all generations to populate Lumiose City, which is great news for anyone who loves variety. Plus, with Mega Evolution making a comeback, the thought of a Mega Dragonite is enough to make any trainer drool.

Furfrou: Get Ready for a Trim

Remember spending an absurd amount of time and money giving your poodle Pokémon a new haircut? Well, get ready to do it all over again. Furfrou’s appearance in the trailer means the various trims—from the Dandy Trim to the Pharaoh Trim—are almost certainly returning. It’s a fun, if slightly frivolous, mechanic that adds a layer of customization and personality to the game.

The Return of Mega Evolution

This is the big one. The trailer was littered with the Mega Evolution symbol, and the presence of Pokémon like Absol, Pinsir, and Tyranitar—all of whom have Mega forms—pretty much seals the deal. Mega Evolution was one of the most beloved features of X and Y, and its absence in recent games has been a sore point for many. Its grand return in Legends: Z-A is a massive win and opens the door for so many possibilities.
