Jennifer English Excited for Role in Soulframe
Jennifer English is enjoying her role as the Empress of Eldveil in Soulframe, the upcoming MMO by Warframe developer Digital Extremes. English, also the voice of Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3, said the role of Alora is her “dream part,” adding that she’s using a “little Welsh accent.”
English, the voice of Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, also has a role in the upcoming game, Tides of Annihilation. Tides of Annihilation is a fantasy action-adventure game based on the legend of King Arthur. The game is developed by Eclipse Glow Games and was announced in Sony’s State of Play in February.
Jennifer English’s Interest in Filmmaking
English also expressed interest in creating a project consisting of a “queer genre film.” She said that she wanted to work with “The Avengers of shes, theys, gays and allies,” hoping that it will be “something really inclusive, and badass and something that hasn’t been made before.”
Jennifer English is known as one of the primary voices for queer representation in video games. She praised Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios’ efforts to include nonbinary people in the game by including they/them pronouns, which the actors had to return to the studio to record the script using gender-neutral pronouns.
Shadowheart’s voice actress also told GamesRadar+ that she’s worked on some not-so-stellar games, but they don’t appear on her resume. The voice of Latenna in Elden Ring said that you’d have to mine through up to seven years of bad games to hear her, stating that she “just wasn’t credited” on these games. She’s a Game Awards’ nominee for Best Performance.
