Worlds 2025: T1 Sits Comfortably at the Peak

T1 has achieved something that no other organization has. They won three Worlds in a row. The core of Oner, Faker, Gumayusi, and Keria were there for all three. Doran earned his Worlds Trophy. T1 Faker managed to do what SKT1 Faker could not: win a third consecutive trophy. The tournament was not without its concerns, but in classic T1 fashion, they found their peak at the ideal time.

Doran

Total Apex rating – 6.1 (tied 8th among top laners, tied 36th among players)

Champions Played

  • K’Sante (4)
  • Ambessa (3)
  • Renekton (3)
  • Sion (3)
  • Camille (2)
  • Galio (2)
  • Ornn (2)
  • Rek’Sai (2)
  • Gragas
  • Mordekaiser
  • Rumble

Doran had shaky moments during Worlds. Even in games where he had good performances, he would have one or two moments of madness. He died in situations where he did not need to. Overall, he delivered what T1 needed: a player to play on the weak side and teamfight well. Many focus on his mistakes in the final game against KT Rolster. His errors were not as egregious as the way many portray them. His only unexplainable mistakes were the ones in the mid lane.

Oner

Total Apex rating – 6.6 (tied 4th among junglers, tied 14th among players)

Champions Played

  • Xin Zhao (5)
  • Jarvan IV (4)
  • Nocturne (3)
  • Pantheon (3)
  • Wukong (3)
  • Vi (2)
  • Dr. Mundo
  • Qiyana
  • Trundle
  • Viego

The talking point for Oner at the Worlds this year was the Dr. Mundo game. He played Mundo for the first time in game five against Anyone’s Legend. While T1 won that game, his performance was not the reason. You could tell he had never played him before. He had a disastrous performance against CTBC Flying Oyster. Oner had a couple of games where he went missing, but overall, he had a strong tournament.

Faker

Total Apex rating – 7.0 (2nd among mid laners, tied 3rd among players)

Champions Played

  • Taliyah (5)
  • Anivia (2)
  • Galio (2)
  • Orianna (2)
  • Sylas (2)
  • Viktor (2)
  • Akali
  • Annie
  • Aurora
  • Azir
  • Cassiopeia
  • LeBlanc
  • Ryze

Is there any more to say about the Greatest League of Legends Player of all time? He has won six Worlds trophies. You can split his career in half, and he remains the best player. The clutch factor from Faker at this point in his career is outstanding. T1 had their backs against the wall against 100Thieves and Movistar KOI, but Faker carried them over the line. He went deathless against MKOI. Only Bdd managed to outperform Faker in the mid lane.

Gumayusi

Total Apex rating – 6.9 (2nd among bot laners, tied 5th among players)

Champions Played

  • Varus (4)
  • Ashe (3)
  • Kai’Sa (3)
  • Sivir (3)
  • Miss Fortune (2)
  • Xayah (2)
  • Yunara (2)
  • Caitlyn
  • Corki
  • Draven
  • Kalista
  • Ziggs

Gumayusi had moments during Worlds where he was not himself. He got caught in fights and skirmishes, unlike Gumayusi. Even when he made mistakes, he delivered carry performances. He had a tumultuous year, being subbed out for Smash. However, he picked himself up and ended up winning the Worlds Finals MVP. He also proved that he can play a champion like Kai’Sa. Gumayusi’s final game of the year on Miss Fortune sealed the individual trophy for himself.

Keria

Total Apex rating – 6.6 (2nd among supports, tied 14th among players)

Champions Played

  • Neeko (4)
  • Rakan (4)
  • Alistar (3)
  • Leona (3)
  • Renata Glasc (3)
  • Lulu (2)
  • Bard
  • Blitzcrank
  • Nautilus
  • Poppy
  • Seraphine

Keria’s Swiss Stage performance left much to be desired. He lacked the flair that we usually see from him. His weaknesses contributed to T1’s struggles during that stage of the tournament. However, once they reached the Bracket Stage, Keria turned it around. The flair was back, and he returned to his peak. His Neeko left a mark on the tournament. From the fake out against AL to the Wolf flank against Top Esports, Keria had it all. He peaked at the ideal moment to help T1 to the 3-peat.

T1 Team Preview

T1 struggled during the year. They were the third-best team in the LCK, up until the Road to MSI. After that, they ascended to the second-best team in the world. They would remain in that spot until the LCK Playoffs. Their Worlds performance encapsulated their year. A struggle in the beginning, but it picked up in the Bracket Stage. The roster has achieved an unprecedented victory. They have set the tone for future dynasties.
