Resident Evil Requiem Producer Hints at Return of Past Characters From Previous Games

The release of Resident Evil Requiem is just around the corner in just a few short months, and over the past few months, fans have taken to social media, coming up with some wild theories about the newest installment to the series. One of the biggest rumors/ theories fans have come up with is the possibility of previous characters showing up in the new game. Not a huge stretch given we’re returning to Raccoon City. Resident Evil Requiem Fan Theories About Old Characters Appearing in New Game

Ever since Resident Evil Requiem was first announced at the Summer Game Fest this year in June, fans, myself included, could not stop our minds from turning and thinking about what this game would be about and how it would connect within the series. It was definitely a surprise that the devs would introduce a new character with Grace and return to the place that started it all: Raccoon City.

Since all that information was established, fans wonder about who else will make a return to the series. Fans have come up with the craziest theories about Leon, whether he will return in Resident Evil Requiem, and how he will return in this game. There’ve even been potential leaks about Leon returning in Resident Evil Requiem, which have been exposed as fake. However, all the rumors, expectations, and theories have come to a head, and Kumazawa had to step in and say something about the subject.

Requiem Producer Softly Confirms Rumors

Kumazawa sat down with Australian outlet Well Played in an interview, talking about the expectations fans have about previous characters coming back in this new installment. Kumazaa confirms that there will be a return of some characters from previous games.

Now, this can mean a few things. It’s already confirmed that Alyssa Ashcroft, a character in Resident Evil Outbreak, is the mother of Grace, our main protagonist in this installment, and Kumazawa confirming that previous characters will be making a return in this installment, could just be referring to this. However, we would just have to wait until the game officially launches to understand this statement in full. Here’s what Kumazawa has to say about the subject during the interview.

“I would say that yes, there are going to be some characters from the past series to come in,”

“We can’t promise you anything about that, but the only thing I can say is that there will be characters that have been involved in the Raccoon City incident involved in the game.”
