Marvel Snap to introduce Team Clash mode very soon

Marvel Snap Introduces Team Clash Mode Featuring Iconic Marvel Teams

Marvel Snap is set to introduce a brand-new limited-time mode in December that pays homage to classic comic book team-ups. The new mode, called “Team Clash,” will allow players to build decks around five iconic Marvel teams, each with unique passive abilities and redesigned cards that promote powerful synergies. The event is scheduled to run from December 18th to December 27th.

This new mode will reimagine 30 existing cards as special “Team Clash” versions, complete with new abilities tailored to their respective teams. Players will have the option to use pre-built decks for each team or to construct their own custom decks, as long as they include the six core cards for their chosen affiliation.

Assemble Your Team

Team Clash will feature five distinct teams from across the Marvel universe, each bringing a unique strategic advantage to the board. The teams and their passive abilities are:

  • Avengers: “After you play an Avenger, give one of your Avengers there +1 Power.” This ability encourages players to stack a single location with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to build a formidable presence.
  • X-Men: “You get +1 Energy for each location where you have 3 or more X-Men.” This energy-ramping mechanic allows for powerful late-game plays by rewarding players for spreading out their mutants.
  • Thunderbolts: “Your Thunderbolts reveal with +2 Power at locations you’re losing.” This comeback-focused ability gives the reformed villains an edge when played from behind, turning the tide of a losing lane.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy: “ALL cards reveal with +1 Power at the glowing location.” This simple yet effective boost rewards players for predicting their opponent’s moves, a classic theme for the Guardians in Marvel Snap.
  • Spider-Verse: “You get +2 Energy if one of your Spider-Verse cards moved last turn.” Centered on the move archetype, this ability provides a significant energy boost to enable complex and powerful card combinations.

New Twists on Familiar Cards

The Team Clash versions of cards will introduce new and modified abilities to create fresh gameplay dynamics. For example, the Team Clash version of Captain America grants other Avengers at his location +2 Power, similar to his base card. However, the Hulk in this mode has been reworked to have slightly less base power but gains +2 Power for each other Avenger at his location when he is revealed.

These changes encourage players to rethink their strategies and explore new synergies that aren’t possible in the standard game mode. By focusing on specific team affiliations, Team Clash offers a unique, thematic deck-building experience that celebrates the rich history of Marvel Comics. Players can start planning their strategies now for when the mode goes live later next month.
