Skibidi Toilet in Creative Limbo

Skibidi Toilet in Creative Limbo

Skibidi Toilet is in creative limbo, as the Garry’s Mod-based web series will have a film adaptation. DaFuqBoom, real name Alexey Gerasimov, signed a deal with digital content studio Invisible Narratives to create official Skibidi Toilet projects. However, Gerasimov has reportedly lost creative control over the series and is not getting any information regarding the movie. Additionally, the creator no longer has control over his YouTube channel, as that is under Invisible Narratives’ control.

Skibidi Toilet fans raised concerns over Gerasimov’s apparent treatment by Invisible Narratives, based on screenshots posted by content creator EliteBlueGuy. These screenshots show messages from Gerasimov, also known as Boom, who expressed creative control issues as well as financial stress from the contract he signed with Invisible Narratives.

Skibidi Toilet Ownership Allegations

EpicBlueGuy wrote on X (formerly Twitter),

“The YouTuber DaFuqBoom has lost creative control over skibidi toilet and his youtube channel by the company: Invisible Narratives. He was sent threats about his payments, upload schedule and a very strict NDA. Invisible are the ones who actually probably striked garry’s mod.”

“I’m very disappointed and upset recently, bros. I feel like movie is not being made. Atleast I have not recieved any updates on it [sic],” Gerasimov apparently wrote on Discord.

He also wrote,

“It’s like noone is working, or atleast noone is transparent about it. I’m completely isolated from process. No concepts, no updates. Something imprecise and blurry was described on the phone about it, I seen bits of script… and that’s it. I feel like a fool. My hope is dying with immense speed now.”

Reactions to Gerasimov’s Alleged Mistreatment

The Discord messages alleging negative sentiment towards Invisible Narratives were apparently deleted at Gerasimov’s request. Fans of Skibidi Toilet created a petition which currently has over 8,000 signatures. The petition serves as the fans’ request for the studio to return the creative rights to Skibidi Toilet to him.

Fans also popularized the hashtag #bringboomback in hopes to promote transparency on the creator’s status and involvement with the web series, while urging people to sign the change.org petition. So far, neither the creator or the studio made official comments on the situation.

Skibidi Toilet was created as a YouTube short in 2023 and currently has over 264 million views. DaFuqBoom’s channel currently stands at 46.9 million subscribers.
