Cooking Button Stew, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Wishblossom Ranch, game glitch

What is Wrong with Button Stew in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

You bought the Wishblossom Ranch expansion, unlocked a horse, freed Maximus, and he wants Button Stew. You’ve looked up the ingredients, and you toss them in your pot only to get… Tasty Veggies. It’s enough to make you drop and throw a tantrum, Donald-style.

How to Make Button Stew

Button Stew requires two ingredients: a Button Mushroom plus a Carrot. That’s it. You already know about Carrots, and you’ve probably found the Button Mushrooms growing in Glamour Gulch. So you have everything you need! Not quite.

As of the writing of this article, there is a very annoying glitch that you will discover when you try to cook the Button Mushroom. First, it doesn’t want to go in the pot. You’ll try and try, and it keeps refusing to get in there. Finally, the mushroom goes in. It’s showing in the ingredients at the bottom of the screen. Fantastic! But no.

You see, the game is apparently treating the Button Mushroom as a generic spice. So, even when it does go in the pot, and you add the Carrot, all you’ll get is the Tasty Veggies.

You’ll still need to level up your horses, especially Maximus and Khan, fairly early. They’re highly likely to want Button Stew as one of their favorite foods. So, right away, leveling them seems more difficult but it’s not so bad. There are other ways to level your horses.

Feeding them their other preferred foods, jumping obstacles, just riding around, petting, grooming, and gathering all help with experience for the horses. To help even more, I’m following this up with more tips to level your horses.

Just Another Day in Disney Dreamlight Valley

If you’ve been playing Disney Dreamlight Valley for any length of time, you’ve probably come across other glitches. This one is very frustrating when you first encounter it but it’s not really the worst thing that could happen. Since it isn’t game-breaking, we probably won’t see a fix until the next scheduled update, December 10, at the earliest.

So, hang in there, fellow horse ranchers. We can still level our beloved steeds! We’ll just have to get a bit more creative.
