Markiplier’s Iron Lung Movie Update: Momiplier Footage Sparks Fan Excitement
A post was shared on Reddit today about the possibility that YouTube celebrity (and King of FNAF) Markiplier has finally completed the production of his movie adaptation of Iron Lung, a game originally developed and published by David Szymanski on Steam. Now, this isn’t really anything new, as Mark did hint earlier this year that he was close to revealing the release date, but nothing new has been said since then.
From Announcement to Trailer
Back in April 2023, Mark announced that he was self‑financing a movie adaptation for one of his favorite horror games, Iron Lung (yes, the one with the sea of blood you are not misremembering). Later, in October, fans were treated to a full trailer (which sent this writer into a tizzy).
Now, If you’re really a fan of Mark, Bob, and Wade’s podcast Distractable (hint go watch it!), you’ve probably heard Mark sharing with his two friends about his journey into making the film. They also revisit memories of his YouTube movies, A Heist With Markiplier and In Space With Markiplier (of which Bod and Wade were also part of), and how it shaped the production of his newest movie.
Silence and a Surprise
But, sadly, fans were left on read when it came to any real progression news about Iron Lung (unless you count the Distractable episode where Mark reveals how much fake blood he had to use that stained his eyes red, lol).
However! We received a bit of a jolt from his wonderful mother, affectionately known as Momiplier across the internet (the maker of wonderful chicken and dumplings, as per Wade crying in another episode), who posted a video of the Iron Lung premiere that took place at an Alamo Drafthouse Cenima.
The Excitement Is Real
Now, this premiere wasn’t open to the public, and only the cast and crew (and possibly select individuals) were allowed to attend. That’s fine! This gives us hope that we can believe Mark when he says he’s close to announcing a release date.
