Resident Evil Requiem leaks confirm returning character

Resident Evil Requiem Leak Confirms the Return of a Series Icon

Resident Evil Requiem is just around the corner, and recently, footage of new gameplay has leaked on social media, indicating the return of the zombie, the iconic enemy that has been absent since Resident Evil 6, which was released over 10 years ago. Here’s all that was leaked online, a breakdown of the clip, and what we can expect from Resident Evil Requiem once it launches.

Resident Evil Requiem Leaked Clip

On AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem’s X account, a recent clip of new gameplay footage is circulating online showing the return of the iconic Resident Evil zombies. These enemies haven’t appeared in a Resident Evil game since 2012. The clip shows more gameplay of Grace Ashcroft and how the devs of Resident Evil Requiem are bringing back similar play styles from past games in the series. Here’s what AestheticGamer wrote in his post about the leak, along with the leaked clip:

“There was some new Resident Evil Requiem gameplay of a new area with Grace fighting a zombie in the Resident Evil special program that aired on Japanese television.”

The clip shows Grace facing off against the iconic enemies and shows what would happen if the zombies get too close. Now, it might just be because this game brings us back to Raccoon City, but the game really does look and feel a lot like Resident Evil 2.

This isn’t the leak we would’ve liked to hear be confirmed, with fans a lot more interested in hearing if Leon will actually appear in Resident Evil Requiem; however, it does provide more insight into what we can expect in this new installment.

What Does the Clip Reveal About the Upcoming Installment?

The return of the T-Virus-infected zombies is a pretty big deal. Resident Evil 7 and 8 explored the world of Resident Evil, where we got to fight other types of mutated and infected. Having the original grunt enemies come back in Resident Evil Requiem is fitting, given that the devs’ intentions were going back to the series’ roots. Knowing this, I know many fans cannot wait until the game’s release in February.
