Acquiring All Renegades Volatile Weapon Mods
One of the additions that Bungie added in the Edge of Fate is Volatile Weapon mods. Only New Gear weapons can have these mods equipped. Some mods will only function for a specific activity or for a short duration. In Renegades, Bungie added five mods for players. Players must unlock these mods, and there is no guarantee that they will get them instantly.
Volatile Weapon Mods
As of right now, there are five mods in Renegades. More may get added in the future during events like Arms Week. All Volatile Mods apply to New Gear. Any new weapon gained during the Edge of Fate and Renegades counts towards New Gear. Many of the current mods do not significantly alter their effectiveness, but Overpressured Munitions can enhance their efficacy while fighting against the Cabal. You can only slot in one mod at a time for each weapon.
Calm Amidst Chaos
After not taking damage for a short duration, this weapon gains significantly increased aim down sight speed, handling, and flinch resistance until the next shot is fired.
Kill Shot
Reloading after a final blow loads a high-powered round, causing the next hit to cause improved additional splash damage. Strong against Barrier Champions.
Opening Salvo
This weapon gains bonus range and deals more flinch at the start of combat for an improved duration. Strong against Unstoppable Champions.
Overpressured Munitions
This weapon gains improved bonus damage against Cabal targets.
Stay in the Fight
When your shields are broken, this weapon gains an improved period of increased stability and ammo generation.
How to Acquire the Renegades Volatile Weapon Mods
Volatile Mods come from the new Vanguard Order system. They will only drop from Legendary Orders. The more you complete common orders, the higher the chance you get to have a Legendary Order. On the Legendary Order, you will notice that its potential rewards are a Legendary Payout and Lawless Weapon Mod Payout. There is a random chance for you to get a mod after turning in a Legendary Order.
