7 Inazuma Characters that Need Buffing in Genshin Impact

7 Inazuma Characters that Need Buffing in Genshin Impact

Inazuma could be considered Genshin’s experimental phase. Hoyo threw a lot of things at the wall to see which ones stuck. Unfortunately, this led to a few things that weren’t exactly successful. This includes some of the Inazuman characters, who could do with a little bit of fine-tuning.

From the Spirit World

If we assume that the Inazuma Faction Buff will be similar to Mondstadt’s, then 2 characters of the same Faction will need to be in the party to activate. To that end, I think the Faction that hits most of the characters who need Buffs, and is highly relevant to Inazuma, is the “Yokai”.

All the characters listed below have some connection, no matter how tangentially to the Yokai. And, to be fair, even in the case where the link is minor, the fact that Razor counts as Hexenrei gives us a little wiggle room.

1. Raiden Shogun

While not a yokai in the most technical sense, she does have a strong connection to the group. She’s also the ruler of Inazuma and, as a result, their ruler as well.

In terms of Buffs to her kit, the first one should be changing her Elemental Skill to deal damage to enemies that are under the effects of Shield. The fact that the Coordinated Attack does proc if the enemy you are hitting is Shielded never made sense, even when she first came out.

Second, she could do with a little more speed when it comes to charging up her Resolve stacks. Not much, just a little. The duration of her Burst infusion mode should also be increased, without affecting its CD, to give her a little more time.

2. Yae Miko

Miko isn’t bad right now; she’s just a little clunky. All she really needs is some number adjustments and some extra Energy Recharge to get her up to modern standards.

3. Arataki Itto

Itto is in a weird place. His kit is technically fine, but his niche is just… not really that up to snuff right now. If he wasn’t included in the list of Buffed characters, it probably wouldn’t be too bad for him, since what he really needs is just stronger Supports.

However, if they did include him, maybe they could give him a touch more damage and have Ushi be a little more useful. Let him provide a Debuff or something because right now, he’s just a battery with a mediocre taunt.

4. Yumemizuki Mizuki

Higher numbers, especially if she’s going to be a Swirl-based DPS. Swirl doesn’t do much damage on its own, so if she’s gonna specialize in it, she really needs to buff it to ridiculous proportions.

Another way to make her better is to Buff the damage of Elements she Swirls. The Off-Field characters would end up doing more damage, but it should still improve the overall experience of using her.

5. Kujou Sara

Longer duration of her ATK Buff, and maybe add some bonus CRIT Rate to her C6. Also, if she is supposed to be a more Electro-centric Support, add some Bonus DMG to her kit for Electro-specific characters (be it based on party composition or just flat Bonus Electro DMG).

6. Gorou

While it’s not confirmed that Gorou is a yokai, there is a high probability that he is. Taking that assumption as fact, the best thing they can do for him is give him better Energy Recharge. His Burst takes forever to come back up. The fact that the War Banner is stationary is also a problem, but I suppose that can’t be helped without taking away from the point of his Burst.

If they want to capitalize on Crystallize Shard pull from his Burst, they could make it so that each Shard pulled in gives him a set amount of Energy. That way it’s more dynamic a Buff and facilitates having at least 1 non-Geo character in the party. The Heal from his C4 could stand to be stronger as well.

7. Kirara

Kirara needs to just pick a lane. Her split-scaling severely limits her potential. Her damage is ATK-based, but her Shield is HP-based. While her 2nd Passive does give her some HP scaling towards her Skill and Burst, it’s not enough. They just need to pick one and stick with it. Apart from that, give her a little more Energy Recharge, and she’s good.

Honorable Mentions: Yoimiya and Kamisato Ayato

Neither of these characters are yokai, and their connection to the group is limited (Ayato having to work with Miko doesn’t really qualify him to be part of the faction). That said, they both need some help.

Yoimiya needs more damage to make up for her Single-Target nature. Either she need flat out stronger numbers, or they need to rework her Burst so that she can trigger its AoE Burst.

As for Ayato, he also needs to pick a lane. Like Kirara, his split-scaling is doing him no favors. His 2nd Passive is also a little odd and could do with a slight touch-up. Make it so that he also gains Energy while On-Field, just not as much. After all, he is an On-Field DPS.
