Kingdom Hearts 2 Fans Have Noticed A Strange Mistake In The Prologue 20 Years Later
Kingdom Hearts 2 was released in 2005. That’s a long time ago. Throughout this time, Kingdom Hearts has cultivated a dedicated fanbase, obsessed with the series. And after 20 years, fans of the series have noticed a strange mistake in the prologue of Kingdom Hearts 2. Here’s what fans have been talking about.
Kingdom Hearts 2 Hides a Strange Mistake in the Prologue
On the Kingdom Hearts subreddit, Redditor SaucyJack01 shared a pretty interesting detail that they noticed while replaying the game. The scene in question happens during the prologue, while we play as Roxas, on day three, when Roxas is reading a letter Hayner leaves for him. The speech bubble reads,
“Meet at the station. Today’s the day we hit the beach – and don’t sweat about the munny!”
Now that doesn’t seem like a mistake, especially without context. The mistake lies in the actual handwritten note that Roxas is reading from. According to SaucyJack01, the letter says something completely different than what the speech bubble reads, and it’s actually true. If you look closely enough, you can see what is written on the letter, which actually reads,
“Waiting at the station. Today, my friends, is the day we hit the beach! (Munny? No problemo!)”
Canon Confirmation
SaucyJack01 also pointed out that the letter is written in English across every version of the game, which confirms that it’s the canon language of the Kingdom Hearts universe. Now, is this groundbreaking information that changes the way we see Kingdom Hearts 2, or effects our gameplay in any way? Absolutely not. But it is interesting to see what people can notice about the game 20 years after its original release.
It also goes to show just how much people are still invested in the series. Something so minor can excite a whole fanbase on Reddit, creating buzz for the game, especially since things have been so hush-hush about Kingdom Hearts 4.
