Konami Aims to Release One Title Every Year

Konami Aims to Release One Title Every Year After Success of Sillent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f

Konami has had a pretty good couple of years, after releasing both the Silent Hill 2 Remake in 2024 and their most recent success, Silent Hill f in September. Recently, Konami has revealed plans to launch roughly one new Silent Hill game per year after getting the iconic horror series back on track, starting with one brand new title and another remake. Here’s what Konami has revealed their plans are for the series going forward.

The Success of the Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f

Both the Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f were immediate successes for the series. The Silent Hill 2 Remake became Konami’s best-selling game, selling over 2.5 million copies of the game. It’s been praised for staying true to the original game while bringing it into the modern era of gaming, revamping the series overall.

On the other hand, Silent Hill f broke records, selling over a million units in just four days after launching, and earning a pretty high Metacritic score, proving how much players enjoyed Konami’s newest title. It definitely exceeded expectations. The successes of these two games have pushed Konami to announce ambitious plans for the series, and here’s what they have explained.

What Does Konami Have Planned for the Future of the Series?

In Famitsu’s end-of-year feature, which asked game developers their hopes for 2026, Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto shed light on the company’s ambitions going forward, not just in the next year, but every year. Okamoto states,

“Following the release of Silent Hill 2 in October 2024, we were able to deliver Silent Hill f in September 2025, and the Silent Hill series has begun to get back on track,”

“Including both announced and unannounced titles, we’re aiming for a release pace of about one title per year,”

“I’m not sure how much of that we’ll be able to realize, but I’ll continue to do my best as producer of the Silent Hill series. Ideally, we’d like to keep excitement around the Silent Hill series going at all times. We’re working hard to share new updates, so I’d appreciate it if you could wait just a little longer.”

Releasing full title games, especially intricate games like the Silent Hill sereis is really ambitious indeed. The next Silent Hill game in the series is Silent Hill Townfall, and we also know Bloober Team is working on remaking the first Silent Hill game as well. It’s always a difficult task to produce quality games, and we can only hope that Konami can keep fans interested in the series without sacrificing quality.
