Arc Raiders Has Proven Itself By Maintaining Player Numbers While Battlefield 6 Struggles

One of the best co-op FPS games to be released this year isn’t what you would think it’d be. Arc Raiders is proving to be the one to beat, especially after the release of Battlefield 6 and Black Ops 7 this year. Now, as we say goodbye to 2025 and ring in the new year, it’s been reported that after two months since its release, Arc Raiders is pulling in 5 times as many players compared to Battlefield 6.

One of the most hyped and anticipated FPS games to be released this year was Battlefield 6. Battlefield 6 shattered records during their 2 open beta sessions, selling over 7 million copies of the game in just 3 days, racking up over 172 million matches played in its opening weekend, and achieving the highest concurrent player count in the Battlefield series history at 750,000 concurrent players at its peak.

Battlefield 6 dominated over Black Ops 7; however, it seems it’s having difficulty maintaining that fire 2 months after its release. Its numbers have been on a steady decline ever since, according to SteamDB. Season one at the end of October briefly saw Dice’s newest entry in the Battlefield series hit 500,000 again, but from that point on, Battlefield’s player count has been on the decline.

Meanwhile, Arc Raiders is Impressing Everone With the Numbers

At the same time, Arc Raiders is pulling in 5 times as many players as Battlefield 6 today. Arc Raiders had peaked at 500,000 concurrent players at one point, still a little less than Battlefield 6’s peak. However, Arc Raiders has been on a consistent incline in new and returning players since its release.

Even though there were 253,000 people playing Arc Raiders on release day, that number kept going up. A week later, there were more than 400,000 concurrent players on Steam at the same time. Since then, Arc Raiders has consistently hit over 400,000 players according to SteamDB, with people returning to the game every day.

Now, at the end of the year, there is a stark difference between the two games. Arc Raiders still pulls in over 400,000 players every day on Steam, while Battlefield 6 pulls in around 80,000 players per day. What’s the difference? About 5 times, though we have seen a slight increase in Battlefield 6 sales and concurrent players since Christmas Eve.
