Dig, Dig, Die is a co-op horror game about grave robbing while fighting monsters, avoiding aliens, and gambling away your loot

Dig, Dig, Die: Co-Op Horror Where You Dig Graves While Avoiding Ghouls and Aliens

Most co-op horror games follow a pretty predictable recipe. It’s a formula that works, but sometimes you just want something that feels a little more… chaotic. A little more unhinged. Like Dig, Dig, Die. Developed by Alice Games, this upcoming 2026 title looks like it’s taking the standard “loot and scoot” mechanic and injecting it with a healthy dose of adrenaline and absurdity.

Digging Graves for Fun and Profit

The premise is delightfully morbid. You and up to five friends board a cursed flying ship and raid haunted graveyards. Your tools of the trade are shovels, crowbars, and whatever improvised weapons you can scrape together. The core gameplay: dig up graves, find treasure, and get back to the ship. But be cautious of where you dig, folks. When you choose to dig, you might pull up a loot box filled with gold or a sweet power-up. You might unearth a curse or wake up something better off sleeping.

We’ve all had that moment in Lethal Company where you know you should leave, but there’s one more room to check. This game seems to weaponize that greed. Do you dig one more grave and risk a team wipe, or do you cash out while you still have your limbs attached?

Graverobbers, Zombies, and Aliens Galore!

You’re sneaking through a crypt, and your teammate steps on a twig, or worse, decides to sneeze into their microphone. Suddenly, the thing stalking you knows exactly where you are. Dig, Dig, Die is leaning into it hard into proximity voice chat. The monsters here hunt by sound. If you’re the type of player who likes to narrate your every move, you are going to be a liability. The developers have even added special voice effects, which I assume means your screams will realistically echo through the catacombs.

And just when you think you’ve mastered the art of being quiet in Dig, Dig, Die, there’s the wildcard: UFOs. Yes, apparently, in addition to the undead, you have to worry about getting beamed up into space. It’s completely ridiculous, and I love it. It adds a layer of “anything can happen” energy that keeps multiplayer sessions fresh. And imagine the views and laughs gamers can get from recorded sessions on.

The High-Stakes Casino of Dig, Dig, Die

Usually, in these games, your “safe zone” is just a place to buy flashlights and heal up. In Dig, Dig, Die, the ship is a fully functioning casino. Dying isn’t the only way to lose everything you just worked for, because the tables could rob you blind. After surviving a run (if you survive), you don’t just hoard your cash. You can take it to the blackjack tables, spin the roulette wheel, or play thimbles.

It’s inherently funny to think you risked your life against ghouls and aliens, only to lose your hard-earned loot to a bad hand in blackjack. It just might be funnier than watching your friends scream after digging up a ghoul. We all have that one friend who’ll bet all the team’s loot for one prize, only to lose it all.

Keep Your Eyes Peeled For Dig, Dig, Die

Dig, Dig Die is a scary, fun time with friends and the crazy moments y’all have with one another. This co-op horror is more about finding a way out together than digging stuff up. It’s about the moment your buddy gets snatched by a UFO mid-sentence. It’s about the panic of digging up a monster when you were hoping for a speed boost. It’s about the collective groan when someone gambles away the funds for better shovels. It’s set to release in Q1 of 2026, so you won’t have to wait long for the chaos to begin.
