Kojima Has an ASUS ROG Laptop, Modeled After Death Stranding
Asus announced a Death Stranding-themed gaming laptop, titled the ASUS ROG Flow Z13-KJP, created in collaboration with Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa, Death Stranding’s art director, lead character designer and mechanical designer. Asus announced the gaming laptop at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show, held in Las Vegas Nevada from January 6 through January 9.
Asus, under the Republic of Gamers brand of computers, launched the ASUS ROG Flow Z13-KJP under “shared philosophies” with Kojima Productions. The theme of this gaming laptop is “For Those Who Dare” and “For Those Who Play.”
Kojima and Shinkawa’s Design Philosophy for the ASUS ROG Flow
Mr. Kojima and Mr. Shinkawa wrote:
“Playing and challenging are always intertwined, sparking creation and forming the very foundation of our evolution. Designed as a device equipped by Ludens, the symbol of ‘those who play,’ we hope this machine will become a partner in a new adventure for all of you Ludens who continue to embrace play and challenge.”
Luden, singular for Ludens, is Kojima Productions’ skeletal mascot, and Shinkawa designed it. The laptop will cost approximately $2,000, and Asus will release the laptop around the end of March 2026. It is not the only Kojima-themed item Asus announced. The other accessories include the Delta II headset, the Kersis II Origin Mouse and the Scabbard II XXL Mouse Pad, featuring the Luden and the phrase “For Ludens Who Dare.”
The laptop will run on the Windows 11 Pro operating system and comes with two months of Xbox Game Pass Premium. The laptop also includes a one-month trial of Microsoft Office for new Microsoft 365 customers. The case included with the laptop looks like the suitcase Sam carries in the Death Stranding games. Please do not throw the case at people’s heads.
