Xur is Selling A Catalyst He Has Never Sold Before in Destiny 2
The Ruinous Effigy Catalyst is a pain to acquire. Getting kills with the Transmutation Spheres, hoping for it to drop, was tedious. For the weekend, Xur is selling this Catalyst, something he has not done before, according to RickKackis. Unfortunately, the rest of his loot is not going to shake the world. After last week’s loot, we were hoping that he would continue that trend.
Xur’s Disappointing Legendary Weapon Rolls

Two New Player-Friendly Exotics Sold at Xur
The version of Hawkmoon this week is Rangefinder. It is a decent perk for the Hand Cannon, but not the best roll. His other Exotic weapons are: Huckleberry, Telesto (again), and Thunderlord. Telesto is one of the more for-fun Exotics in Destiny 2. Huckleberry and Thunderlord are ideal for newer players getting into the game. Huckleberry’s recent buff makes it powerful in PvE. Thunderlord is a stable Heavy Weapon to use in most PvE content. The Suros Regime and Ruinous Effigy Catalysts are okay, but not game-changing. However, pick up Ruinous’ Catalyst to save yourself time.
Hunter’s Exotic Armor Fails to Impress
The two Hunter Exotics for sale are Lucky Raspberry and Triton Vice. Both fulfill a niche within Destiny 2 PvE, but rarely see playtime. Arcbolt Grenades are far from the best Arc Grenades. Glaives have a place in the game, but more often than not, you want to run a better Exotic than Triton Vice in its place.
Another Missed Week For Titans
MK.44 Stand Asides is possible to use in PvP, but it is another case of there being better options. Path of Burning Steps, in theory, is useful in PvE. Stacking Roaring Flames is not a difficult task. However, when you end up using Roaring Flames, it is for Bonk Hammer builds. That means you will not shoot any weapon, except the Tractor Cannon and a One-Two Punch Shotgun.
Warlocks With the Best of the Rest

Warlocks, without a doubt, have the best Exotics from Xur this week. Vesper of Radius is not the best Exotic, but it can save you in dire situations. One of the best uses for it was Crota’s End Day One, in the Ir Yût encounter. Dawn Chorus’ synergy with Solar Warlock is potent. It is not an S-tier Exotic, but it is fun to use and effective.
Xur’s Other Goods
The Exotic Class Items have returned to Xur’s wares this week. You must complete Dual Destiny on the specific class to purchase it. Other than that, you can buy resources like Enhancement Prisms, Enhancement Cores, Glimmer, Raid Banner, Strange Gifts, and a Favor of the Nine.
Xur is Here For a Limited Time
As a reminder, Xur is only in the Tower with these wares until Tuesday’s reset. If you want to get your hands on any of his gear, be sure to visit him before that point.
