There is no shortage of content while you complete your duties as a soldier, checking survivors for the zombie infection. Thermopulsometer — Color Indicator

The Color Indicator for the Thermopulsometer is likely one of the most important upgrades you should consider, as it provides a clear indication of when someone’s pulse or internal temperature has reached dangerous levels. In the first few days, you won’t need this particular upgrade as much. However, when you need to start checking for dozens of different symptoms, the color indicator will save you time when checking survivors.

Scanner — Clear View

The scanner is one of the first tools you receive when you start playing the game, and is probably the most used tool in your arsenal. Clear View will remove all the mud, blood, and dirt a survivor may be covered in when they arrive. This is particularly helpful when these things can be mistaken for other symptoms that would indicate infection, or when it gets increasingly difficult to tell what symptoms are what.

Matioscope — Autofocus

The last main tool you’ll receive is a Matioscope, a tool that reveals parasites and bacteria in the eyes by zooming in on a microscopic level. This is an extremely helpful tool, as it helps you identify symptoms in a survivor. However, you not only need to move between three different ocular layers, but also refocus the lens every time you do.

Autofocus fixes this issue because it ensures that you are always in focus, whether you jump between layers or if you just lose focus on the Matioscope. You won’t be able to upgrade the Matioscope to this level until you reach Zone Level 5; however, when it does become available, you should definitely get it.

Stethoscope — Color Indicator

The Stethoscope is one of the most useful tools in the game; however, it can be quite difficult to use because of how many different sick and healthy breathing types there are, and the focus you would need when listening to determine what kind of breathing type the survivor has.

The color indicator will show what color the person’s breathing condition is when you move the Stethoscope to the black spots on their lungs. Identifying breathing types can be one of the most difficult symptoms to determine in a survivor. Adding the color indicator upgrade makes using the Stethoscope ten times easier.

Scanner — Wider Cone

The scanner will probably be one of the most widely used tools at your disposal, and not just because of how meme-worthy it is. It is super useful in identifying symptoms in a survivor, especially if they are wearing clothes that cover skin. When you receive the scanner, its radius is very small, which makes using it in the beginning a little annoying. When the scanner upgrade for a wider cone comes up, I suggest grabbing the upgrade as soon as possible.
