LCK Cup 2026 Match Review: BRO Nearly Topple BFX in a Tense Series
After a disappointing opening series, HANJIN BRION looked for redemption against FearX in the LCK. They almost achieved that goal, narrowly losing 2-1. They were one team fight away from winning the series and getting their first point on the board. The surprise so far this year for BFX has been VicLa. He was the best player on the rift today, contrary to his weak performances in the LCK in 2025.

Gideon continued to run the rift, earning kills for himself and his team. For a long time, BRO was unable to establish a significant advantage. BRO thought they caught Kellin, but it turns out that they overextended. VicLa teleported in to find the Shurima Shuffle on the BRO carries. BFX won the teamfight, secured Baron, and delayed the Hextech Soul. BRO went for a Hail Mary catch on Diable, but the BFX AD Carry lives. BFX charged down mid-lane to end the game.

Despite having vision of the enemy Xin Zhao, Roamer pushed too far and died for first blood. The two teams continued to trade kills back and forth with the semi-global ultimate presence of Galio and Ryze. BRION managed to force out multiple ultimates before the Cloud Soul point fight. BFX continued to move forward, but BRO punished them. BRO took Baron, won an ensuing battle, took the Cloud Drake, and broke multiple towers. The gold went from even to 8k in a matter of minutes. Shortly after, BRO ended the game to tie up the series.

Game Three Summary
Despite having a weaker lane from the draft, Diable and Kellin win the 2v2 to earn two kills. BRO’s botlane responds in kind to even the gold. FearX tried to force a teleport play from Clear, but diving into the Lucian Braum resulted in his and Kellin’s death. The first 5v5 fight of the game went in favor of BFX. They earned three kills for one death.
The teams had multiple scraps where neither could find a significant advantage. The kills were either traded or only one extra kill. BRO traded Baron for Infernal Soul point, but did not get enough value out of it. VicLa managed to save the game for BFX as a 5v4 fight was going awry for them. He flashed in with Shockwave to catch three members of BRO. Finally, Raptor catches Teddy to end the game and the LCK series.

Series Summary

BRO showed signs of life during the series. Compared to their previous LCK series against Dplus KIA, they held their own. There were evident improvements, notably from the side of Casting and GIDEON. Roamer had a rough series against VicLa. VicLa has improved drastically in 2026. He went from one of the worst players on his team to becoming the pivotal player on the roster. He saved game three for BFX as they almost lost a 5v4 fight. Despite VicLa’s improvements, the concerns for 2025 BFX remain. They tend to push too aggressively, which leads to their losses. Namgung’s rookie tendencies showed during the series. He had a better performance, but died in unnecessary positions too often.
