LCK Cup 2026 Match Review: Gen.G Remain Perfect As They Defeat DK

One of the top teams in the LCK Cup had to lose their first series. It would either be Gen.G Esports or Dplus KIA that would lose their streak. Ultimately, Gen.G proved that they are the best team in the LCK Cup. They dominated the series and never gave DK a chance to win a game. Gen.G remains perfect, having not lost a single game so far. They face Hanwha Life Esports next week, and are guaranteed a spot in the LCK post-season.

Game One Summary

ShowMaker shows up just in time to save Siwoo from a solo kill. Both teams find plays throughout the map. ShowMaker and Duro are the playmakers for their team. The gold remains even for most of the mid-game. As the game progresses, Gen.G eke out small advantages over time that net them a 3k gold. Kiin is the benefactor of this, as he has the most gold in the game. Siwoo manages to connect on Ruler, but he can not finish the kill. Gen.G trades Kiin’s life for three kills and the Baron. Gen.G needed two more fights and a second Baron to end game one of the series.

Game Two Summary

DK managed to earn the First Blood on Ruler. However, they committed too far and ended up giving over three kills. It goes from bad to worse for the DK bot lane. Gen.G brings over Canyon and Chovy to dive Smash and Career. For the second game in a row, Gen.G ekes out gold advantages. The only play that DK makes nets a kill, but they get nothing more than that. Every time a fight brews, Gen.G plays slowly. They make it impossible for DK to enter without taking poke damage.

Not even Siwoo can approach Sion. DK’s Hail Mary play on Gen.G’s Baron push is somewhat successful. They trade kills, but are unable to stop the Chemtech Soul. At least they prevent Gen.G from ending the game. Minutes later, Gen.G pushes into DK’s base. The fight looks close, but no one on Gen.G dies, and the series ends.

Who will stop Gen.G in the LCK Cup this year? It does not seem like anyone can challenge them at the moment. DK was one of the teams that might have had a chance. However, the series today was not even close. In both games, Gen.G managed to build incremental advantages. It never felt like DK had a route into the game. Any gold or kills that DK could pick up were responded to in kind. Kiin had an outstanding performance on his Gwen. He took over the side lanes and then transferred his power into teamfights. For game two, it was Ruler, who stood out, showing incredible spacing and mechanics on Ashe.
