“The Office” Comes to Fortnite: Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute Join the Battle Royale

Honestly, if you had told me five years ago that I’d be dropping off the Battle Bus dressed as the Regional Manager of a mid-sized paper supply company, I would have laughed in your face. But here we are. The gaming world just got a whole lot funnier, and frankly, a little more chaotic. Fortnite has officially crossed over with “The Office,” and it is everything my sitcom-loving heart could have hoped for.

We are used to seeing superheroes, anime legends, and action stars in the Item Shop, but seeing Dunder Mifflin’s finest ready to crank 90s? That is a special kind of fever dream. Epic Games has finally brought Steve Carell’s Michael Scott and Rainn Wilson’s Dwight Schrute into the metaverse, and the attention to detail is actually staggering.

A Scranton Takeover in Fortnite

“The Office” is cultural comfort food. We’ve watched it, re-watched it, and memorized every cringe-worthy moment. Bringing that energy into a high-stakes shooter like Fortnite is a stroke of genius.

The collaboration centers around two main outfits, but the customization options are where the real love letter to the fans shines through. First up, we have Michael Scott. He comes in his standard, slightly ill-fitting office suit, but the variant styles are where things get good. You can equip the “Date Mike” style—complete with that backwards Kangol hat—which creates an incredible opportunity to yell, “Nice to meet me!” every time you eliminate an opponent. There is also a “Sunglasses” style for when you need to channel that Cool Guy Michael energy.

Then there is the Assistant to the Regional Manager himself, Dwight Schrute. In my opinion, Dwight is probably the only person in that office who would actually survive a Battle Royale scenario. He comes with a jacket-less look and his signature mustard-yellow shirt. But the style that’s going to break the internet? The “Certified Mask” style. Yes, they actually included the CPR dummy face mask from the iconic “Stress Relief” episode. It’s terrifying, it’s hilarious, and it’s perfect.

Iconic Accessories and That Legendary Emote

It isn’t just about the skins, though. The gear Epic Games included in this Fortnite drop shows that the developers are true fans of “The Office.” They didn’t just slap a logo on a backpack and call it a day.

For Back Blings, we have two absolute winners. First, there’s the “World’s Best Boss” mug. It’s oversized, ridiculous, and exactly what Michael would want to carry around a battlefield. Then, there is the CPR doll Back Bling—complete with a ripped shirt and a knife lodged in the shoulder. It’s a deep cut reference that fans will instantly recognize.

We also have to talk about the pickaxes. You can harvest materials with a literal “Dundie” award. Imagine taking down a wall to get to a chest using a trophy for “Best Mom.” There is also the “Broom-Stake,” another nod to Dwight’s paranoia and preparedness.

But the highlight? The emotes. We finally got “The Scarn.” Being able to do Michael’s homemade action movie dance in the lobby before a match is a dream come true. There is also a traversal emote called “Dwight’s Lil’ Red Car,” which features him driving his tiny Trans Am and yelling, “Move over!” through a megaphone. It creates a hilarious visual that fits right into the goofy vibe of Fortnite.

The Nitty-Gritty: Prices and LEGO Styles

If you are looking to grab everything, Epic has bundled it all together for 3,000 V-Bucks. Considering you get both skins, the pickaxes, the gliders (yes, there is a Megadesk glider), and the emotes, it’s actually a solid deal compared to buying them piecemeal.

Another nice touch is the inclusion of LEGO styles. Both Michael and Dwight have fully realized LEGO versions, meaning you can take them into LEGO Fortnite Odyssey or Brick Life. There is something charming about seeing a blocky version of Dwight Schrute running around a survival world; it just feels right.

Why This Crossover Matters

This marks the first time a sitcom has officially collaborated with Fortnite. We have seen musicians, athletes, and fictional warriors, but a mockumentary about office workers? That is new territory. It opens the door for so many other weird, non-combat franchises to enter the game.

For those of us who grew up watching “The Office” between 2005 and 2013, this feels like a celebration of that era. It’s a way to mix our nostalgia with our current gaming habits. Whether you are sweating it out in Ranked or just goofing around in Zero Build, seeing “Date Mike” sprinting across the map adds a layer of warmth and humor that keeps the game feeling fresh.

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to drop into the island, equip my Dundie, and make sure everyone knows I’m the World’s Best Boss.
