Midnight Coup is one of the oldest weapons in Destiny 2, which was part of the first-ever raid, and it is called Leviathan. However, with the launch of the Beyond Light expansion, the raid was removed from the game and this weapon got sunset. Bungie however, reintroduced this weapon with Into the Light update. Midnight Coup Overview
Midnight Coup is an Adaptive Frame Hand Cannon that has no elemental affinity. Adaptive Frame Hand Cannons are one of the most desirable weapon archetypes in both PvE and PvP. This weapon comes with the Origin Trait called Indomitability. It allows the final blows with this weapon to generate Grenade energy when using a Light Super or Melee energy when using a Dark Super.
This weapon can roll with 14 perk options. In the left column, the perks available are Enlightened Action, Attrition Orbs, Moving Target, Explosive Payload, Shoot to Loot, Firefly, and Outlaw. In the right column, Desperate Measures, Opening Shot, Frenzy, One for All, Zen Moment, Rampage, and Kinetic Tremors are present.
PvE God Roll
For PvE, players want to boost the Reload Speed as high as possible. Therefore, Corkscrew Rifling, Tactical Mag, and a Reload Speed Masterwork should be used. In the right column of Midnight Coup, there are two perks that players must consider. Explosive Payload increases the damage of the weapon without any requirements. Firefly is a crowd control perk that deals a Solar explosion as well as boosts the Reload Speed when getting a Precision kill.
In the right column, there are two perks. Frenzy greatly boosts the weapon handling and reload as well as provides a 15 percent damage bonus. One for All is the highest damage-boosting perk which increases damage by 35 percent when hitting three targets in quick succession. Frenzy is a great perk to pair along Explosive Payload whereas One for All pairs better with Firefly.
PvP God Roll
For The Crucible in Destiny 2, players want to boost the Range as high as possible. Hammer-Forged Rifling, Accurized Rounds, and a Range Masterwork are the ideal choice for this. In the left column, players must decide between Moving Target and Explosive Payload. Moving Target is a great dueling perk that boosts movement speed as well as accuracy. Explosive Payload also flinches opposing enemies well.
In the right column, Opening Shot is one of the best dueling perks that greatly boosts the range and accuracy of the first shot of the duel. Zen Moment is another great option as it allows the weapon to gain more flinch resistance and stability. Both of these perks are a great option for Midnight Coup that pair well with those in the left column.
