Rovers! It is time for Wuthering Waves’ Version 1.3 update, we will be unraveling new secrets, and new mysteries and finding new friends on the Black Shore.
Let’s dive in into the “To the Shore’s End” update!
New Location, Story, and Resonators
The Black Shore is a new location that we will be able to explore with our Resenators. Where we will be able to find more of our memories and why they were taken. It’s set on a secluded island that has been torn apart by the cataclysms before its current setting.
Its modern metropolis is left in ruins as it brings a fresh and new location for the mysterious bound around it. Yet despite being mysterious and ominous at times, it looks extremely beautiful adding a sealife feel with the fish and butterflies fluttering about. There are going to be secrets to uncover that will take us to new locations on the island seemingly in their own spaces of time.
In Version 1.3, we will be meeting two new Resonators: 4-Star Resonator Youhu, a Glacio Sub DPS, Gauntlet User, and 5-Star Resonator ShoreKeeper, a Spectro Healer, Rectifier User will be released and we will find out more about them as we move forward with the main story.
Youhu, 4-Star Resonator
In the 1.3 update, Youhu will cross paths with Rover and Yangyang as they investigate Rover’s memory loss in the Port City of Guixu. Youhu is an antique appraiser and the apprentice of Jinzhou’s renowned antique expert, Chenpi. The developers have heard feedback and are trying to add diversity to the Resonater’s moves, with Youhu being among the first. During combat, she will pull out a different number of antiques giving her different fighting styles depending on what she brings out and different buffs for each one she pulls out. She carries a chest that, with her cryogenic abilities, she can pull out her antiques from.
In her Resonance Liberation, There is a mechanic where she will actually randomly pull out a weapon and use it for herself. But if she were to lose control of her chest, it would explode, giving Rovers the chance to choose a weapon for her to use. They seemed to have put in a system so there won’t be too many times where you will get the same antique to attack with, which is good, to help keep the diversity moving forward with her.
Shorekeeper, 5-Star Resonator
The Shorekeeper will join us in the 1.3 update, she has the ability to protect and sustain her allies with powerful healing abilities. When a character on the field, suffers lethal damage, the Shorekeeper will activate a special buff to keep them in the fight and reduce the chance of them falling again. Her Resonance Liberation will allow her to apply DMG buffs to the team including Crit DMG. Seeming;y is another option for those who don’t have Verina, or just simply want to pull for another character.
She attacks and moves as if she were swimming, like Kokomi from Genshin Impact but the Shorekeeper is more “spiritual” or “mystical” with it. In her “Unbound Form” Shorekeeper will transform into a butterfly to move around unhinge from the ground.With that being said Stellar Symphony will be her 5-star weapon and will be introduced with her in the 1.3 Update along with the 4-rank Deep Sky Blazar Series, which assuming would have a weapon for Youhu.
For those of you who missed him, Jiyan will be returning in Phase II.
New Echo, New Events, and QoL
The 1.3 Update will also bring new echos, mainly Fallacy of No Return, a knight-looking echo with a giant hammer. It will be a new enemy for us to face and looks like it’s coming with some new intense moves as it slams down from the air with several moves. There will also be a couple of new events that you can complete for Level Mats and Astrites:
- Retro Game Collector – where we will collect… well, Retro Games Cartridges on the Black Shore, and return them to KU-Cass. This will allow special enemies to be unlocked in the Data Base allowing Rovers to face stronger enemies for better rewards.
- There will be a 7-day sign-in event: Gifts of Sea Breeze, to gather the Tides for both the character and weapon banner.
- Encore will also be getting her character companion story released for Rovers to enjoy.
- Fairy Tale’s Finale A two-player co-op battle challenge where you and a friend can dive in and take on challenges together.
- Solaris Weather Forecast – Featured parkour event, where you can parkour over the Black Shores.
They will be introducing several Quality of Life Updates. UI fixes for event and story listings. While small, they are updating the highlight or selection for menus so you can see what you are selecting better.
