Destiny 2 features a lot of different Exotic weapons all of which bring something new to the sandbox. During the Beyond Light expansion, Bungie released a 30th Anniversary Event that came with the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon as well as Dares of Eternity activity. These came with a brand-new set of weapons as well as two new Exotics. One of the Exotic dropped from the Dungeon and the other called Forerunner was tied to a quest. This article will go over how to complete this quest.
How to Obtain the Quest
To obtain the Quest called Magnum Opus that rewards players with Forerunner, players must visit Xur on the Eternity destination. Interact with him and he will give players the Quest. If players are not able to get it, then they must complete other previous quests that Xur has to offer. Once done, players will be able to obtain Magnum Opus. It is a 6-part quest and is quite simple to complete.
Step 1 of 6
The first Quest step of Magnum Opus requires players to collect Strange Coins in Destiny 2. These are a material item that once dropped only from the Dares of Eternity activity. However, with the launch of The Final Shape expansion, these drops from other activities. If players see that Strange Coins that drop from other activities are not progressing the quest then they must obtain them through Dares of Eternity. Once players have collected 7 Coins, they will progress the quest.
Step 2 of 6
For the second step, players must visit the Starhorse Vendor which is near Xur in the Eternity destination of Destiny 2. Starhorse provides various bounties and has the option to trade Strange Coins for other loot and rewards. For step 2, players must obtain and complete three of these bounties. It is important to note, that higher difficulty bounties provide more progress.
Step 3 of 6
The next step requires players to obtain a Strange Key item from Xur in Destiny 2. This item is only made available to obtain once players have increased their Reputation with Xur enough. This Reputation can be increased by completing Xur and Starhorse bounties as well as completing Dares of Eternity activities. Once ranked, obtain the key to progress to the next step.
Step 4 of 6
For the next step, players must go to the Valley destination, which is the area where Dares of Eternity takes place. Players can go to this destination by either launching it through the Destination tab. Players can also immediately go there by traveling back and right to where the Xur Vendor is present.
Step 5 of 6
Once at the Valley in Destiny 2, travel to the right players will find a rock. Interacting with it from a certain angle will prompt the players to use their Strange Key. Once done, a cursor will point to the next location you need to go. Inside there will be a short jumping puzzle that players will need to traverse through. Once done, players will come across a Cryopod which is a reference to the popular Halo franchise. Interact with it and players will receive an item called an Anomalous Object.
Step 6 of 6
To complete the quest, players will need to bring Anomalous Object to the Banshee-44 vendor in the Tower. Interact with Banshee and he will reward players with Forerunner, an Exotic Sidearm that takes Special Ammo. Once the weapon is collected, players will have completed the Exotic Quest.
