Crimson Desert has been teased over the last year with some amazing trailers and gameplay. It is an upcoming Action Adventure that is being developed by Pearl Abyss. It will be released in the second quarter of 2025 and no release date has yet been revealed. It allows the player to take control of their character in a wide fantasy world of Pywel. Players will use different tools, weapons, and abilities in their arsenal to defeat a variety of bosses. This is everything we know about this upcoming game.
Combat Variety
The combat of Crimson Desert is impressive. The classic light and heavy attacks of the sword and blocking and parrying with the shield are basic yet satisfying. A lot of the combat moves are inspired by wrestling and martial arts. Players can use their versatile kicks to create space, jump over enemies, and perform sweep kicks. There are a lot of special attacks that cost stamina. Stamina management is also crucial to the game.
Players will feel like they are in the shoes of an experienced warrior who is well-versed in different fighting styles. The game allows the player to perform parkour as well as utilize stealth. This Assassin’s Creed-inspired gameplay feels satisfying to pull off in the beautifully designed open world. There is also social stealth involved in the game.
Bosses
Crimson Desert offers a variety of Boss fights all of which challenge the players differently. Some bosses are quick while some are slow and massive but deal massive damage. Each boss has a weakness that is up to the player to figure out and exploit. Each boss requires a different approach to be defeated. Players also have a bow in their arsenal and can climb on taller enemies as well. The fights also have cinematic cutscenes in between making the experience more immersive.
Open World
The Open World of Crimson Desert is massive. The exact details are not known but it might be one of the biggest open worlds in the genre. Players can traverse through this wonderfully designed world in various ways. Players have a cloak which they can use to glide through. This glide provides a lot of movement as well which costs stamina. Players have a horse throughout their journey and there have been teases about camels, elephants, and dragons being mounted as well.
Gear & Stats
In Crimson Desert, players can equip a helmet, chest piece, bracers, and boots as armor options. The ranged weapon slot and the main weapon slot are also present complimented by a defensive slot. There are also stats present in the game that influence the player’s Attack and Movement Speed as well as the chance to perform a Critical Hit. There are also various skills that players can unlock throughout their journey. It is unclear now if gear will play an important role in the game because it is an Action-Adventure instead of an RPG.
