Free Radical
The Free Radical is not only one of the best weapons in Borderlands 3, but it is also extremely simple to use. It is a Malivan Legendary Pistol that is locked to the Shock element. It is not only fun to play with but is also extremely effective and deadly. This Pistol shoots Energy Orbs as bullets that deal Splash damage. Each hit by the weapon also spawns a honing bullet that tracks on the nearest targets. The honing bullets do not deal splash damage, however. To obtain this weapon, players must defeat the Beef Plissken Mini-boss which is present in the Karass Canyon.
Plasma Coil
Plasma Coil is a Submachine Gun, which makes the case of probably being the best weapon of its archetype in the whole Borderlands series. This weapon is manufactured by Maliwan and it is without a doubt the best Submachine Gun in Borderlands 3. After a short charge time, Plasma Coil shoots a burst of 16 elemental projectiles that deal Splash damage.
This weapon also has an extremely high fire rate that allows the projectiles to be fired almost instantaneously. This results in one of the highest burst DPS in the game. This gun clears the room of enemies with extreme ease and most of the bosses become a total pushover with this gun. This weapon features the elements of Shock and Radiation, which are some of the best in the game. To obtain this gun, players must have the Designer’s Cut DLC and drops from the Arms Race Gamemode.
Guardian 4N631
Guardian 4N631 better known as Guardian Angel in Borderlands 3 is a Shotgun that is manufactured by Hyperion. While it may not seem great on paper with low stats and damage, it is still the strongest weapon in the game. The special effect of this weapon makes it a force to be reckoned with. This weapon has the trait that allows the players to deal increased damage the farther they are away from the target.
This includes the damage dealt by this weapon, skills, and Grenades. It provides up to a 500 percent damage increase the further you are away from an enemy capping out at 25 meters. Other than that, this weapon also shoots bullets in the form of orbs that travel slowly and fly in the shape of a bird. These Orbs are capable of reflecting off walls and dealing Shock Splash Damage.
