Raids are the pinnacle endgame PvE activity in Destiny 2. With the latest Raid, Salvation’s Edge releasing with The Final Shape expansion there are now 9 Raids in the game. Each Raid features at least 4 encounters, of which at least 2 are boss encounters. All these encounters require 6 players to communicate well with each other and perform various mechanics. Successfully performing these mechanics allows the players to perform damage on the boss. If players successfully deal enough damage to the boss within a certain phase, they defeat the Raid boss. This article will review three of the hardest bosses in the Raids of Destiny 2.
Warpriest
Warpriest comes from the reprised Raid of King’s Fall and is the second encounter. The main challenge of this boss comes from its massive health pool while keeping track of the various mechanics involved. Players have to divide into different teams. A team will keep track of which totems to stand on performing other mechanics while others will focus on the constantly spawning wave of Hive enemies. The damage phase of this boss is extremely tight. Players will have to constantly keep track of various timers as well as bring their best damage options to the fight.
Rhulk, Disciple of the Witness
Rhulk is the final boss of the Vow of the Disciple Raid which came with The Witch Queen expansion. It is one of the most unique and amazing fights in Destiny 2. This encounter features several mechanics that players must perform to reach damage. Two players are responsible for getting buffs and debuffs, some players will call out which totem to deposit the buff at, while others will need to kill the constant wave of enemies.
After that, players will reach another arena with Rhulk present there. Players will need to shoot the weak spot on their body to get a buff, while other players will need to call out where the player needs to deposit the buff. Once four buffs have been deposited, the damage phase will start and Rhulk will become aggressive. He will constantly move throughout the arena shooting out beams of darkness. Players must be moving all the time while avoiding the darkness debuff and making sure that they deal enough damage.
The Witness
The big bad of the Light and Darkness saga, The Witness is the final boss of the latest Salvation’s Edge Raid. This encounter breaks away from other traditional encounters because the boss is constantly attacking the players during DPS. These attacks are also not something that players can withstand. Even with normal difficulty, these attacks will guarantee to kill the players.
The mechanics are pretty straightforward with three people performing the actual mechanic and three doing ad clear. Players need to shoot the bands on the arms of the Witness to reveal a shape. Then they have to stand in the respective beam of darkness to get a debuff. After getting the debuff they have to shoot the band again to break the Witness’ arm and progress toward damage.
