Zenless Zone Zero 1.3 Update Livestream went live this morning, it includes a look at the new banners, events, and several quality-of-life updates. In this article, I will cover the important bits so you don’t have to go looking for it. Let’s dive into it.
Zenless Zone Zero 1.3 New Banners
Arriving with Zenless Zone Zero 1.3 Update are two new banners, with two new characters. In Phase 1, Tsukishiro Yanagi will be coming. Yanagi is an Electric Anomaly S-Rank Agent. She is a naginata-wielding specialist arriving from the Section 6 Hollow Investigation Unit. Her Basic Attack is called the Tsukuyomi Kagura, She effortlessly and skillfully uses her naginata to damage her enemies with Electric attacks building up Electric Anomaly in the process.
She used two different stance styles, using the Special Attack button will trigger Ruten, allowing her to switch between those stances and change her available combos for her Basic Attacks and different buffs. Gessu will be her Additional Ability, which will allow her to stack her Anomaly buildup allowing for quicker and more effective Shocks paired with Gekka Ruten, her EX Special Attack, she will be producing more Electric damage. Once triggered her Polatiry Disorder skill will allow her to trigger Disorder on her enemies without removing the target’s anomaly buildup and deal DMG equal to a percentage of Yanagi’s Anomaly Proficiency.
In Phase Two, Lighter will arrive. Light is an S-Rank Fire Stun Agent from the Sons of Caladon. Lighter uses his fists to solve his problems but that doesn’t stop him, or help his enemies, from him issuing a ton of stun and stagger to his foes. With his Core Passive, Accelerant, When Lighter is in the Moral Burst state, hitting an enemy with the 5th hit of his Basic Attack will continuously consume Morale and increase his Impact.
His attacks will also give a debuff to his enemy’s Ice and Fire resistance, making him a perfect companion for any Ice or Fire builds going forward. His Assist attacks are enhanced with more impact allowing for a quick switch-off and sneaking in Impact. Naturally, with both coming in new banners. They will have 2 A-rank agents following each release and their engines following their debut. Following their release, the Baddieboo will be dropping in the Bangboo selection channel allowing for it to be picked up as well.
Events and Quality-of-Life
In the Zenless Zone Zero 1.3 Update, there will be a slew of events coming with quality-of-life updates. These new events will include a new Knightboo, a Bangboo that will throw Fire elements rockets, and release horses that will do Ether DMG. The only way to achieve this Bangboo is doing the event it’s tied to, so make sure to do it if you don’t want to miss it. New events and game modes will be arriving including
- a ZZZ-style 2d side scroller with Lighter as the playable agent.
- A new battle-tower mode Simulated Battle Trial will be coming where the higher the floor, the harder it will become, and assuming, the greater the rewards. Each floor will be given new enemies and new buffs for them to assist in the difficulty. Proxies must remember that between floors, Agents won’t recover health until a segment is completed so it is best to come prepared with teams that can be swapped out in case of an emergency.
- A new rogue-like mode will be arriving, The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault, this will task the proxies and their agents in moving through the hollow zero in TV mode, there are several chapters where each area is randomly generated, this event is where the Knightboo will be obtainable. As you move through the mode, there will be resources for you to gather and unlock skills that you can choose yourself, so that you may customize your style.
- Virtual Battlefield Mayhem will bring you back to the VR devices at the HIA Career Club and you will test your might against enemies with buffs and skills.
- Another event will be When Sandwiches Come a Knockin’ A pop-up food truck arrives and you will feed your favorite characters.
- “En-nah” Assistant Program will see you helping Bangboo to “train” them as you take pictures of them.
- Help Kai will be a new event that will allow you to complete tasks for rewards. A new shop will be arriving allowing you to exchange materials for statues that can be collected in your room on a new display shelf.
For Misc Events coming in the Zenless Zone Zero 1.3 Update, Double drops from the Combat Simulation and Clean-up Duty will be arriving as well will be arriving, the standard 7-day login for 7 Master Encrypted tapes and 7 Bangpons will be arriving for you to collect over the 2-month period. Titles and Medals will be arriving as well to allow you to decorate your Personal Homepage with awards that you will get through events and other means.
Quality-of-life updates will be arriving with a bunch of new things for the Proxies:
- The weekly schedule will be updated now for a more streamlined approach to choosing what you want and has access to more rewards that will reset weekly giving a new and better incentive to do it.
- There will be character recommendations now when you run through upgrade materials, showing you the character that requires it to upgrade, this will also include the Drive Discs.
- Crafting will be streamlined now as you will be able to craft from the upgrade screen instead of running through extra screens.
- Agents and Bangboos can now be favorites.
- Track selection has been streamlined so it’s easier to see and, my personal favorite, Copy Disks from the Tuning will now be upgradeable! So all the lower tier tuning disks can now be upgraded to their higher tiers.
Conclusion
The developers of Zenless Zone Zero have constantly shown that they are listening to their player base and have always been improving.
