Dark Souls 3 is the final game of the beloved Dark Souls trilogy and was released in 2016 by FromSoftware. This game introduced some amazing weapons including Sellsword Twinblades. This game perfected the Soulsborne formula and introduced quality-of-life improvements. One of the most major additions was the introduction of Weapon Arts. This allowed weapons to do special attacks which just added to the buildcrafting options in the game. This article will go over the Sellsword Twinblades which is regarded by many as one of the best weapons in the game.
How to Obtain Sellsword Twinblades
Sellsword Twinblades can be acquired right from the beginning of Dark Souls 3 if players choose to go with the Mercenary class. This will allow them to come equipped with these swords as well as a shield. However, if players choose to go with another class they can also find it in the open world.
Players need to travel to the Road of Sacrifices and have the Halfway Fortress Bonfire unlocked. From the bonfire travel straight and players will come across some ruins. There will be some minor enemies, players can ignore them and keep moving forward. Eventually, players will come across an Anor Londo Knight. Behind him will be a lootable item that will reward players with Sellsword Twinblades.
Sellsword Twinblades Overview
Sellsword Twinblades are dual-wielding scimitars that have short range but extremely quick moveset. Dual-wielding the weapon allows players to wield a sword in both hands. Attacks with both of these swords at the same time allow players to do one of the highest DPS in the game.
This weapon also comes with the Skill called Spin Slash. It allows the weapon to perform attacks with the weapon in a spinning combo. Further input will allow the players to perform a strong attack. This weapon does not require the usage of Spin Slash to be effective, the normal attacks of the weapons are potent on their own. This weapon can also be infused or buffed with spells and requires Titanite to level up.
Stat Requirements & Scaling
Sellsword Twinblades is mostly a Dexterity weapon with a slight scaling in Strength. However, upgrading Strength provides minimal increase in damage therefore players will be better off investing in Dexterity. Being a starter weapon, it does not have any high requirements to be wielded. It requires 16 Dexterity and 10 Strength to be wielded. It comes with an initial scaling of E in Strength and C in Dexterity. Upon fully upgrading the weapon, the scaling goes to D in Strength and B in Dexterity.
Rings
Rings are a core component of Dark Souls 3 buildcrafting. Each ring provides different benefits catering to different playstyles. For this build, players want to use the rings that increase the weapon’s damage and overall health and stamina of the players.
- Pontiff’s Right Eye: Increases the damage of the weapon with consecutive hits. As Sellsword Twinblades have a faster attack rate, it allows them to take advantage of this ring effectively. It provides a 3 percent attack boost which increases to 10 percent as long as attacking persists.
- Ring of Favor: This ring increases the health, stamina, and equipment load of the user. The base version of this ring raises health by 3 percent, stamina by 9 percent, and equip load by 5 percent.
- Chloranthy Ring: This ring increases stamina regeneration rate by +7 stamina per second.
- Hunter’s Ring: This ring increases Dexterity by 5 points allowing Sellsword Twinblades to deal additional damage.
Stats Priority
Players should prioritize Dexterity when leveling up their character and then Vigor and Endurance for bonus health and stamina. Getting a Sharp upgrade on Sellsword Twinblades will increase the Dexterity scaling to A, significantly increasing the weapon’s damage. For this build, players will benefit more from simply using the normal heavy attack of the weapon and not using the skill of the weapon.
