The Sinister Summary
If you were keeping count, several games took home multiple awards during The Horror Game Awards this year. The Silent Hill 2 remake took the lead with its four awards, and both Mouthwashing and Still Wakes the Deep took home two each. Even though a AAA game won the most awards, it lost in several categories to some of the most amazing indie horror games to exist. This just proves that spine-chilling experiences can be crafted in all corners of the horror genre no matter how much funding a project has.
Looking ahead, 2025 appears to be an incredible year to come for horror, especially indie projects. I highly recommend heading to the YouTube channel for The Horror Game Awards to watch all the trailers for some amazing upcoming horror experiences. Here are a few that managed to catch my enthusiastic eye: Feed the Pit, Deadcam, Animal Use Protocol, and Shiver. Of course, there were many more amazing projects shown off during the event, and they will certainly fill the next year with players’ screams. Some of them might just be contenders for The Horror Game Awards in 2025, as well.
