Arkveld to Officially Appear in Monster Hunter Wilds’ 2nd Beta

Monster Hunter Wilds Release Date Open Beta

Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase came and went on 2/4/2025, it revealed a plethora of new things with new and returning monsters, but just as important, it showed off some new things coming in Wilds’ 2nd beta access.

Arkveld Appears!

Arkveld

While the full release isn’t that far away, 24 days from the publication of this article. The beta won’t be showing off any of the new updates that they have shown off previously in a community update a month back. So, sadly, Insect Glaive users won’t be able to fly in this upcoming beta. But they have revealed something interesting: Arkveld, the flagship monster for Wilds, has been revealed to be the new monster they were teasing as the “mysterious” monster from before. This will be a Special Quest, it will be a difficult fight against Arkveld, so if you do hunt him, prepare for a challenge!

The flagship monster is the one on the cover of the artwork that will be presented, presuming a large monster that has significance to the story. Rise had Magnamalo then Malzeno in Sunbreak. World had Nergigante, with Iceborne having Velkhana. Despite already being seen in the main artwork, Arkveld has already solidified itself in the story through the trailers and its connections with Nata and his backstory. To see more about Arkveld, we will have to wait for the full game to drop.

Date and Time

The 2nd beta will start on two separate weeks:

  • Thursday, February 6th, 2025, 7:00 pm to Sunday, February 9th, 2025 6:59pm
  • Thursday, February 13, 2025, 7:00 pm to Sunday, February 16th, 2025 6:59 pm

It’s important to remember that during the beta, the only thing that will be transferred to the full game will be character customization. Progress from the story and gameplay will not move over. To reiterate, the 2nd beta will not be introducing updates that were announced a month ago; this will be saved for the full game release. There will be two new hunts, including the Arkveld special hunt but nothing that the first beta wouldn’t have already had.

If you participate in the beta, you will be given a teddy charm for your weapon as thanks for participating. There is a benchmark tool on the Steam page for Monster Hunter Wilds, where if you want to test how the game will do on your current rig, then downloading it and trying it would be a good idea as not everyone had issues, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Regardless, this 2nd beta is causing only more wildfires as we get closer to the full release. Good luck out there hunters and remember, Happy Hunting!
