Monopoly Go! Teaming Up With Star Wars For Exciting Event Starting May 1st

Monopoly Go! brings the classic board game to people’s phones. It lets players compete with people from all over the world and complete challenges. The game also features different events where people can play minigames and earn unique rewards, such as stickers to add to their in-game albums. Soon, players can experience an event based on Star Wars.

Monopoly Go! frequently hosts events where players can earn exclusive items. Yesterday, the trailer dropped for their upcoming Star Wars event. The trailer shows Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader having a lightsaber duel on a Monopoly board. In addition, we see Anakin podracing over the board, stormtroopers going directly to jail, and cameos of Yoda, Leia, Han, and Chewie. The trailer also featured dice floating around with the Force, some glowing blue for the “light side,” and some glowing red for the “dark side.”

A Dynamic Experience

The event will apparently cover the mainline Star Wars movies, as well as the hit Disney+ show The Mandalorian. According to Game Rant, the confirmed Star Wars characters for the event include Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Yoda, Mace Windu, Qui-Gon Jinn, Chewbacca, Rey Skywalker, Kylo Ren, Din Djarin/The Mandalorian, and Grogu.

The event will also feature minigames, exclusive collectible stickers, and new Star Wars-themed locations. Game Rant also states that the event will include “storied battles” between the light side and the dark side. This could mean that players will be able to choose their allegiance and fight for the light side or the dark side against other players.

A New Era for Star Wars?

The popular simulation game, Disney Dreamlight Valley, is also including a Star Wars event this year. Since next year will see the franchise return to theaters with The Mandalorian and Grogu, one can wonder if Disney is trying to rekindle people’s excitement about Star Wars. In any case, the Monopoly Go! event is sure to please fans. Judging by the trailer and the pre-event buzz, it will capture the atmosphere of the galaxy far, far away. The event begins on May 1st and will run until June 2nd.
