Rumor: Marathon Open Beta Likely Arriving In August 2025
Bungie has been on fire recently with their announcements. All the news surrounding Marathon and the new Destiny 2 Expansion has put the company in the public’s good books. The Marathon Closed Alpha starts this week, but there are rumors that the Beta will be released later this year before the official release in September. While the Closed Alpha having no NDA is exceptional for players not participating, they are most eager to get their hands on the Extraction Shooter during the Beta.
Marathon Open Beta Likely Held in August
No information has been officially released regarding the Open Beta for Marathon. However, Paul Tassi at Forbes speculates that there will be an Open Beta in August. He reasons that with the current timeline between the Closed Beta and full release in September, there is very little time for the Open Beta to be held. Developers will need time to work on all the feedback and information they gather from the Closed Beta to implement into the Open Beta so the game is more or less ready for launch in September.
Marathon Closed Alpha Begins This Week
Players wanting to see the gameplay of Marathon need not wait much longer. The Closed Alpha opens on April 23rd with no NDA attached, meaning all content surrounding the game will be available to viewers. Even if you do not get access to the Closed Alpha, you can experience the game with your favorite streamers and content creators. It will run until May 4th, so there is plenty of time to see what the Extraction Shooter is about.
