Early Game Highlights: SR Strike First
Game starts without issue. All lanes just farm and poke.
Contractz goes top and ganks Sniper with Fudge. They manage to kill him under turret. Contractz gets the credit for First Blood.
100T take the first Drake (Ocean) but River takes a lot of damage while doing so.
SR start up Voidgrubs. Quid tries to come up to potentially stop them but Bvoy, who was hiding in a bush, pushes him away. SR takes all 3 Grubs without issue.
FBI opens up a Bullet Time in top lane against Bvoy and Ceos. River uses Paranoia to dive on to Bvoy and kill him.
Early game ends due to time. Gold is even but 100T has more farm.
Mid Game Highlights: The Zoning is Strong in LTA North
River starts up the second Drake (Chemtech). At the same time, Contractz engages onto Sniper with Nature’s Grasp. He, Fudge, and Palafox dive Sniper and Eyla under turret. Sniper dies to Contractz. Quid almost catches out Palafox but he Flashes way. River secures the Drake.
River dives onto Palafox in top lane, hands the kill over to Quid.
River starts up Rift Herald, but SR come over and push him off of it. Contractz secures the objective. Meanwhile Quid takes the outer top turret for First Turret of the game.
SR drop Herald mid. It deals damage to the outer mid turret but doesn’t take it. While this happens, Palafox manages to use his Ultimate to get Quid low, forcing him to recall.
SR starts up the third Drake (Hextech). 100T hovers around but SR is able to poke River down low. Even though he doesn’t die, he is forced to back off. SR take the objective uncontested.
Mid game ends with the SR taking the third Drake. 100T have the lead in farm and gold (2.1k).
Late Game Highlights: 100T’s Clever Play Just Delays Things
Fudge runs into Sniper in bot tri-bush. He manages to survive and kill Sniper thanks to supportive fire from Xerath’s Ultimate.
River starts up the fourth Drake. Contractz uses Nature’s Grasp to start up a team fight. Eyla dives into SR as River uses Paranoia and FBI unleashes a Bullet Time. Quid dives in but gets exploded by Palafox. Next River dives in and he dies to Bvoy, who dies a second later to FBI.
Palafox takes out Eyla immediately after. Fudge jumps on to FBI but he’s able to disengage. Sniper tries to take out Fudge but ends up getting locked up and dies to Contractz. FBI runs away while SR take the Drake. Fight ends 4-1 for SR.
100T starts up the Thornbound Atakhan. After some positioning, SR engages with Nature’s Grasp. River uses Paranoia to try and prevent a steal, but Fudge still manages to take the objective away from 100T. SR try to disengage but Sniper manages to kill Contractz in retribution. 1-0 for 100T but SR secures the objective.
Both teams start setting up for the fifth Drake. SR manages to do a decent amount of damage to Eyla, pushing him away. Instead of trying to contest, 100T head towards Baron instead, forcing SR to move with them. They don’t start the objective, instead using it as a distraction so that Sniper can take the outer bot turret.
Fudge starts up the fifth Drake and, with 100T on the other side of the map, takes it uncontested. SR are now on Soul Point.
100T head back to Baron Pit and start up the objective. SR starts to converge and 100T back off immediately.
Both teams enter a more passive farming and warding state as they wait for the next Drake to the spawn.
Seeing that Quid is pushing bot lane, SR starts up the Baron. Sniper tries to flank them but gets caught out by Fudge. As those two skirmish, Contractz uses Nature’s Grasp to try and zone the rest of 100T from Baron.
He Snares Eyla and then dives onto him with Twisted Advance. Eyla gets low and has to back away. FBI pops Bullet Time to zone SR and River dives in with Paranoia. He gets no kill and almost dies but manages to Flash away. Both teams disengage. Baron remains unclaimed.
SR manages to chunk out Quid, forcing him to retreat. They then head over to Dragon Pit and start up the sixth Drake when it spawns. 100T hang back until the Drake is low. River uses Paranoia to dive on to Contractz in an attempt to steal but Contractz secures the objective. 100T chase after SR as they retreat but aren’t able to start up a fight. SR now have Hextech Soul.
Fudge catches Eyla out in blue side bot jungle. He chases. The rest of the team comes to help, with Palafox hurling long range blasts from his Ultimate. Eyla dies to Fudge, who then jumps on River (who had come up to help). He dies to Bvoy. SR then immediately turn on to Baron and take it. 2-0 to SR plus the objective.
SR pushes towards 100T’s base through bot lane. Quid dive at Bvoy and uses Emperor’s Divide to push him back towards his team. At the same time, Contractz engages the other members of 100T with Nature’s Grasp. Bvoy dies to FBI. Quid then dies to Fudge.
River uses Paranoia on Palafox, who had been firing off long distance Ultimate shots. He manages to survive River’s attacks thanks to Ceos and even manages to kill him instead. While this is happening, Fudge kills FBI. Contractz takes out Sniper as well.
With 4 members of 100T down, SR march into the base, destroying everything in their path, and end the game.
Post Game Analysis: A Measure of Patience
SR end the game at 39:45 with a 4.9k gold lead. The final score is 13-5 for SR. SR manages to win this game by being patient and outplaying their enemy. They utilized Palafox’s immense range to its full, allowing him to be part of fights without having to put himself in harm’s way. And, the one time he was too close, he was helped out by Ceos.
100T played a good game but minor mistakes such as being out of position or failing to secure Atakhan ended up costing them dearly. Their trick of pulling SR away from Dragon Pit by threatening Baron was clever but it ultimately led to SR taking the Drake anyway. They probably shouldn’t have scattered as quickly after it succeeded.
After this game, both SR and 100T are 1-2. They both still have a chance to make it could of group stage but the chances of it happening will depend heavily on Day 2’s games.
