Rumble, Vi, Jayce, Yone, Poppy, and Gwen banned out. Nothing new there.

Naafiri was locked in first by 100T. DSG takes Taliyah and Pantheon. 100T respond with Varus and Ahri. DSG closes out the 1st set of selections by picking Ambessa.

During 2nd ban phase, both teams target roles that have yet to be picked, with DSG removing Renekton and Gnar, while 100T exile Kalista and Lucian.

DSG starts the 2nd set of picks by taking Ziggs. 100T rounds out their team with Nautilus and Riven. DSG last pick Leona. 100T have a good team fight comp, even with the Riven curveball. DSG meanwhile,e has a team that has great map mobility but requires significant coordination.

Team comps are: 100T – Riven (top), Naafiri (jungle), Ahri (mid), Varus (bot), Nautilus (support) vs DSG – Ambessa (top), Pantheon (jungle), Abbedagge (mid), Ziggs (bot), huhi (support).

Early Game Highlights: DSG Lack Coordination

Game starts without a major incident. Everyone just farms and pokes.

DSG starts up the 1st Drake (Ocean). 100T come in to contest. After some dancing and poking, River is able to Steal the Drake. As if that wasn’t bad enough, FBI gets 1st Blood by killing eXyu. ScaryJerry kills Eyla in retaliation before Flashing over a wall.

Quid, however, wants more. Using Spirit Rush, he chases after ScaryJerry and Abbedagge, and kills both of them. Meanwhile FBI kills huhi back at Dragon Pit. Fight goes 4-1 for 100T and they take the objective.

eXyu uses Grand Starfall to gank FBI in Bot Lane. He survives but has to use Flash to get away. Seeing this, River starts up and takes the Voidgrubs.

ScaryJerry, alone in lane, gets a little too close to Eyla, who Flashes on top of him and hits him with an Auto Attack. This allows Quid, who was roaming down, the time to join. ScaryJerry tries to back off, but Eyla hooks him, and Quid deletes him. This happened while Abbedagge was walking down to Bot Lane and 2 other members of DSG (eXyu and huhi) were hanging around in Red Side Bot Jungle.

Early Game ends with 100T ahead in gold by 2.3k, and ahead in farm as well.

Mid Game Highlights: River Draw All the Attention

100T start up the 2nd Drake (Chemtech). DSG heads in to try and contes,t but Eyla is waiting for them. He immediately hooks huhi as he gets close to Banana Bush. 100T jumps on huhi, who is pretty tanky. Abbedagge uses Weaver’s Wall to save huhi by knocking him and 100T in opposite directions (actually very impressive aiming).

Sniper and Castle Teleport in from Top Lane as River returns to the Drake. Despite getting Stunned by eXyu, Sniper avoids Abbedagge’s Seismic Shove. Castle, on the other hand, moves forward to try and get an angle, only to get hooked by Eyla. He gets chain CCed but escapes.

While DSG is distracted by the Castle’s predicament, Sniper comes in from the side, chunking down Abbedagge and killing ScaryJerry. DSG disengages, leaving 100T to secure the Drake. Fight goes 1-0 for 100T.

Sniper and Abbedagge engage in a 1v1 in Bot Lane. eXyu uses Grand Starfall to join. Sniper tries to escape into the Bot Side Top Jungle but gets Flash-Stunned by eXyu and then Stunned a second time by huhi’s Solar Flare (he came down through Bot River). Sniper dies to Abbedagge but huhi gets killed by FBI (who also came in through Bot River) in retaliation. Fight goes 1-1.

After the fight, Eyla and FBI hang around Bot Lane. Eyla lands a hook on to Abbedagge, who Flashes to avoid the follow-up Chains of Corruption while using Seismic Shove to flick Eyla under Turret. Eyla dies to this, but FBI manages to take out Abbedagge in revenge. Another 1-1.

River starts up the Rift Herald. DSG slowly starts to close in, as does the rest of 100T. As the Herald gets low, River is pressured to back off it. eXyu then uses Grand Starfall to join and jumps onto River, Stunning him. DSG immediately piles in onto him.

River uses Hound’s Pursuit to survive and get out. eXyu ends up dying to Sniper. Castle attempts to secure the Rift Herald but gets CCed by Sniper. FBI takes out Shelly. River returns and kills Castle. huhi acts as a distraction for Abbedagge and dies to River. Quid kills ScaryJerry in the background.

Abbedagge manages to make to his Outer Top Turret but gets dove. A successful hook from Eyla locks him in place, effectively handing over the kill to Sniper. Fight goes 5-0 to 100T.

While his teammates were dealing with Abbedagge, FBI drops Shelly in Mid Lane and uses it to take the Outer Mid turret for 1st Turret of the game. He then drives Herald all the way down to Bot Lane and uses it to take a massive chunk out of the Outer Turret there. He can’t stay to take it, though, because ScaryJerry Teleports in.

DSG starts up the 3rd Drake (Cloud). River uses a Blast Cone to get into the Dragon Pit. 3 members of DSG all target him. He manages to survive for a considerable amount of time thanks to Hound’s Pursuit. While DSG is distracted by River, Quid starts to get to work on their backline.

Quid kills Abbedagge first. River finally drops to eXyu, who tries to get away by Flashing over the wall of Dragon Pit. Unfortunately for him, FBI is there, and he starts shooting at him. Quid Rushes over the wall and kills eXyu before Rushing back into the Pit.

Sniper drops huhi before securing the Drake. Castle and ScaryJerry manage to get away. the fight goes 3-1 for 100T, who are now on Soul Point.

Mid Game ends with 100T still ahead in farm and gold, this time by 7.5k

Late Game Highlights: Bullying in LTA North

100T start up the Atakhan. As Castle tries to come around through Banana Brush, Quid chunks him down low. Abbedagge uses Weaver’s Wall to try and lock up Quid, who Spirit Rush over to avoid the wall, side steps the Seismic Shove, Spirit Rush back over to DSG’s side of the wall, and then completely destroys Abbedage (even though all 5 members of DSG are nearby).

While all of this is going on, the rest of 100T take the Atakhan. Just to clarify here, Quid just took on DSG 1v5 and both got a kill and survived. Salt, meet wound.

eXyu tries to back in the gap between Blue Side Top Jungle and his Base. River jumps on him. The rest of 100T fire Skill Shots at him, FROM OVER THE JUNGLE WALL, locking him down so that FBI can get the kill, again FROM OVER THE JUNGLE WALL.

100T takes the 4th Drake completely uncontested. They now have Cloud Soul. After taking the objective, River heads to Mid Lane and, together with Quid, jumps onto ScaryJerry and destroys him. Quid gets the actual kill credit.

River then takes down Abbedagge. The rest of DSG, who had been gathered up in the area, scatter. 100T chase down eXyu. Quid gets the kill. He then Spirit Rushs into the DSG base and deletes huhi. Only then do he and the rest of 100T back off and take Baron.

Eyla tries to catch out Abbedagge but misses the point-blank hook. Abbedagge gets away but he does lose a decent chunk of Health. 100T take the Inner Top Turret. They start sieging both the Base Top and Mi Turrets. River goes over the wall of DSG’s base to zone them. 100T takes the Base Mid Turret and file into the Base.

Quid dives forward, takes a MASSIVE chunk out of ScaryJerry, kills huhi, and the kills ScaryJerry. He almost dies to Castle but manages to get away. FBI then kills Castle and eXyu in quick succession. Abbedagge uses Weaver’s Wall to retreat into his fountain. As the minions and most of 100T work on the Nexus and its Turrets, Eyla hooks Abbedagge, who goes Golden.

Eyla dies to the Fountain Laser (Abedagge gets the credit), but FBI hits Abbedagge with the Chains of Corruption the instant he comes out of Stasis. He then kills him with a Piercing Arrow. 100T then end the game.

Post Game Analysis: Poor Communication Kills

100T ends the game at 27:31 with an 18.3k gold lead. The final score is 27-5.

DSG drafted a team with great roaming/map mobility, excellent Turret taking power, and exceptional AoE damage, with the caveat that it would require pinpoint time and communication to fully capitalize on. And that’s where they failed.

There were at least 3 times when a member of DSG was killed while his team sat around nearby and did nothing. I don’t know what was going on in the coms, but clearly it wasn’t, “Hey, I need back up over here!” Poor synergy aside, there were also several instances where members of DSG were caught out of position and gave away unnecessary kills.

This is not to say that DSG lost this game only because of their misplays. 100T, especially Quid and River, demonstrated far more mechanical skill than their opponents, as seen by Quid taking down Abbedagge during the Atakhan skirmish. After that, there really was no coming back for DSG.
