Capcom keeping promise to hire 100 employees each year

Capcom Plans Major Expansion Amid Record Profits

So while half the gaming industry is busy slashing jobs and replacing artists with AI-powered assets, Capcom said “nah, we’re good” and dropped a whole video presentation about expanding instead! On May 21, 2025, Capcom rolled out its fiscal year results (April 2024–March 2025), and along with some juicy numbers, they gave us a peek at their plans to build bigger, hire more, and not, you know, gut their workforce.

Capcom’s Building While Others Downsize

Reported by GameBiz, Capcom is going all in on increasing its dev power. They’re building a brand-new hub near their Osaka HQ, which is set to be done by 2027. And because one shiny new building wasn’t enough, they’ve already bought more land for future expansions!

Their goal? To “create an environment where creators can unleash their talents fully.” That’s right—actual investment in people. Wild, we know!

While other studios are quietly prepping for an AI takeover, Capcom is going full human mode. They’re planning to hire 100 new staff members every year, because according to them, talent is the “essential driver of growth.”

(Insert applause gif here.)

Working Conditions… Improving?!

But wait—there’s more. Capcom isn’t just hiring, they’re also trying to improve working conditions.  Shocking, right?

They’ve committed to closing the gender wage gap to less than 12% (still not perfect, but progress!), and they want more of their male employees to actually take paid parental leave. Honestly, this sounds like some unicorn-level HR behavior for an industry that thrives on crunch time and unpaid overtime.

Profits on the Rise—Again

This strategy isn’t coming from a place of desperation either. Capcom just closed out its eighth straight year of record-breaking profits. And they’re predicting even more highs for next year. With all the remakes, sequels, and new titles they’ve got in the pipeline, that confidence isn’t misplaced.

Final Thoughts: Capcom, Please Keep Winning

Mid- and long-term, Capcom’s betting big on creativity, collaboration, and actual humans. It’s a bold play in a sea of companies automating everything to death—and honestly? We hope it pays off.

Because if the industry keeps going full AI, we’re all gonna end up playing the same game reskinned 100 times.
