I Can’t Get a Nintendo Switch 2, and the Wait is Agonizing

The Nintendo Switch 2 is out, and I don’t have one. I wasn’t able to secure a preorder, and now, I can’t even secure a regular order. I saved for months to afford a Switch 2, but no amount of saving can solve a supply and demand problem, and oh boy, is the demand ever high.

Where is My Nintendo Switch 2?

On Nintendo’s official site, you have to “register your interest” in buying a Switch 2 with Mario Kart World bundle, and you will be emailed when it’s your turn. On GameStop, you can’t order it from the website, and you have to see if it’s available at your local store (which it isn’t). I have “registered my interest” at both sites, but so far I haven’t heard anything back.

This is Awkward

I’ve written quite a few articles about the Switch 2 and Mario Kart World on Total Apex. I even ranked the previous Mario Kart games with a promise to add Mario Kart World to the article soon. Well, I’m sorry, but I don’t know when that will happen. I’d been hoping to write more articles about Mario Kart World after I play it. I’d love to review it for you, but by the time I get it, the hype might have died down.

What am I Doing Instead of Playing a Switch 2?

Since I don’t yet have my shiny new Nintendo Switch 2, I’ve been playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on my Switch 1. It doesn’t have the open world that Mario Kart World is boasting about, nor does it have World’s Knockout Tour or Free Roam modes, but it has a lot of creative tracks and fun characters to race as. Plus, you can race as Link from The Legend of Zelda and Isabelle from Animal Crossing.

My Hunt for the Nintendo Switch 2 Continues

I can still write about the Switch 2’s launch and reception without owning one, but I feel like I’m going to be late to the biggest party of the year. I don’t blame Nintendo, since they’re undoubtedly doing their best to keep up with the massive, massive demand for the Switch 2. I’ll hopefully have the Switch 2 in my hands soon. If not, then I’ve still got my Switch 1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still a great game.
