The trailer for High On Life 2 dropped at Summer Game Fest, and it appears to be as wacky, trippy, and hilarious as the first game. The surreal first-person shooter takes place on an alien world where humans are used as drug ingredients. Also, your weapons are sentient.

In the first High on Life, you played a human bounty hunter out to stop an alien drug cartel from making drugs out of humans. The High on Life 2 trailer, which dropped during the Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest, begins with two aliens discussing “Humanzepro” pills, indicating that the drug cartel might be active again. According to IGN, a blurb for the game states, “When a mysterious figure from your past reappears and puts a price on your sister’s head, your cushy life gets thrown into chaos. Do you have what it takes to risk it all and bring down an intergalactic conspiracy that once again threatens your favorite species (humans)?”
Trippy Gameplay
The trailer shows the player skateboarding (or hoverboarding?) through the vibrant alien city, armed with talking guns and even a talking bow and arrow. At one point, two of the sentient guns smile at each other as if they’re in love. Also, the player grabs a fire-breathing turtle and waves it around to shoot fire at enemies, because why not? It looks like the original game’s bizarre sense of humor is still intact, which is sure to make for a memorable experience.

Fans of the first game should find a lot to like in High On Life 2. It looks like it will be full of slick, fast-paced action, along with the surreal sense of humor that made the first game a hit. The game is set to be released this winter and can be wishlisted now. Prepare for a trippy ride.
