Persona 4 Revival Announced – Atlus Teases New Game in Beloved Series
A Persona 4 remake has long been rumored to be in the works, and Xbox finally confirmed it. Persona 4 Revival was revealed at the Xbox Showcase on June 8, during Summer Game Fest. Not much was really given regarding the new version of an Atlus classic, but that it is finally confirmed at all is a big deal for the gaming industry. A trailer teases what to expect when the game does release, and fans of the series should have enough to go on to be excited for the future.
Persona 4 Revival Modernizes JRPG Gem

A Persona 4 remake has been out there for a long time, with fans itching to hear more about the possibility. Atlus has been working hard to remake and remaster many games of late, bringing the JRPGs that were popular in the Asian markets to become well-known internationally. Games such as Raidou Remastered, Persona 3, and Shin Megami Tensei have burst back onto the scene, while games like Metaphor: Refantazio have offered new IPs and pushed for game of the year. Other JRPG studios like Square Enix have also followed suit. Now, Persona 4 Revival gets the full remake experience after the previous port and remaster releases.
Aside from the trailer, we still do not know much about Persona 4 Revival. As expected, it is a fully 3D version of the original game, and gameplay itself looks to have been spruced up as well. Overall, fans should expect much improved graphics, smooth combat, visual and sound enhancements, and quality of life improvements. It is unclear if there will be any changes to the actual storyline at all, though as the release date gets closer, more information will likely be revealed.

Final Thoughts
Really, this announcement was little more than a simple confirmation. We do see the beautiful visuals coming to life on modern consoles, but aside from that, the only gameplay revealed is running on a street. Still, at least we do not have to theorize anymore, Persona 4 Revival is real and is happening. There is no release date yet, or even release year, but when it does come out, players can buy it for Xbox Series or PC. It is unclear if it will come to other consoles as well, though given how Atlus handled Persona 5, anticipate a PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 release as well.
