MSI FlyQuest Roster

MSI 2025 Preview: FlyQuest Are the Western Hope

FlyQuest was the Western hope at the World Championship last year. They were one game away from defeating GenG Esports but fell at the final hurdle. Their Mid-Season Championship run was not as successful, losing in the Play-In Stage to PSG Talon. In 2025, FlyQuest will begin the MSI journey in the Bracket Stage as the LTA North’s only seed. Can they do better than Worlds and defeat the Eastern dynasty to secure a Western title?

FlyQuest Roster

  • Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau – Belgian Top Laner
  • Kacper “Inspired” SÅ‚oma – Polish Jungler
  • Song “Quad” Soo-hyung – Korean Mid Laner
  • Fahad “Massu” Abdulmalek – Canadian Bot Laner
  • Alan “Busio” Cwalina – American Support
  • Erlend “Nukeduck” VÃ¥tevik Holm – Norwegian Coach

FlyQuest is an American organization filled with non-North American players and staff. They have kept the same roster from Worlds, and they are hungry to defeat the best in the world. The Canadian Bot Laner Massu was instrumental in their fightback against GenG, and in his home country, Canada, he aims to do it once more.

How They Got Here

FlyQuest missed out on the First Stand, unceremoniously losing to 100 Thieves in the Cross Conference Final. They returned in Split 2, reinvigorated. Their only series blemish came at the hands of Cloud9 during the Positioning Phase in a bo1. During the Play-In and Playoffs stages, they lost four maps in total, all to C9 in the Upper Bracket and Grand Finals. The fifth game of the Grand Final ended dramatically with Bwipo and Quad destroying the enemy nexus with a backdoor.

Expectations

Many are looking to FlyQuest as the Western hope at MSI. G2 Esports has looked shaky, and Movistar KOI, while under the Mad Lions name, has disappointed European fans. With the Fearless draft in full effect and the team’s ability to make surprise picks, they have the potential to stun the Eastern teams. Gauging their exact finish is difficult, but they should beat all non-Eastern teams and push the East to the brink.

FlyQuest’s Journey

FlyQuest begins MSI as the lowest seed from regional winners. Their seeding is due to Team Liquid’s performance at the First Stand, where they were the only team to miss the Playoffs. They are in the same tier as T1, meaning they will face Anyone’s Legend or CTBC Flying Oyster. Many might want to face CFO first, but the Taiwanese outfit showed they are capable of taking down top opposition at the First Stand. They will likely find themselves on GenG’s side of the bracket since T1 can not be there. A victory against AL or CFO will result in them facing the winner of GenG and their Play-In’s round opponent.
