Destiny 2 Developer Livestream Reveals New and Old Information
The Destiny 2 Livestream built further into some of the new aspects in Edge of Fate. If you have been keeping up to date with the changes, the majority of them will not surprise you. Some new additions will excite players, especially a new weapon archetype that will change the way you play Destiny 2. Many questions remain unanswered, but we got some insight into new gear, Kepler, and the artifact.

Below is a list of the features already discussed in previous videos and articles for the Edge of Fate. You can check out the developer livestream or previous videos and articles for more information on these features.
- Armor 3.0
- New Armor Exotics
- Gear Tiering
- Kepler Abilities
- Legendary Weapon Archetypes
- Artifact
Legendary Heavy Crossbow
Along with the previously announced weapon archetypes, another is coming in the Edge of Fate. A new legendary heavy crossbow will shape the Destiny 2 Sandbox. Players can pick up crossbow bolts from dead enemies to restore their ammo, potentially creating an unlimited ammo loop.
New and Featured Gear
For each season, there is new and featured gear that will provide additional benefits for players. Armor provides additional damage resistance, while weapons give increased damage. The more weapons and armor you have from the new and featured gear, the higher your stat increase is. Gear tiers will also increase the stat total you get. The list of featured gear, which includes older exotics, will come in a later article, but you can also check the stream to see some of the exotics featured in the first season.
Kelper Ability Upgrades
On the Kepler destination, players can upgrade their new abilities in unique ways. One of the upgrades will make Matterspark activatable, like your sparrow, or another will give Mattermorph the ability to suspend enemies. More details on the upgrades will follow in future streams with the release of Edge of Fate.
Further Destiny 2 Details
For those who miss any of the streams, a recap will follow every Thursday. The upcoming Livestream on July 1st, at the same time as this one, will feature discussions on the Portal and Power progression. You can expect a standalone article on Wednesday, July 2nd, to discuss more aspects of Gear tiering. As we build closer to the Edge of Fate, more articles are sure to follow, and we will keep you up to date on when those are happening.
