MSI 2025: Furia Versus GAM Esports The First Team Is Eliminated in an Exciting Series
The first team eliminated in the Mid-Season Invitational has now been decided. After a brutal back-and-forth series between Furia and GAM Esports, GAM emerged victorious. A pause caused by a bug delayed the conclusion of the series. Furia could not prevent the end and was eliminated from MSI. GAM awaits the loser of G2 Esports and Bilibili Gaming to battle for the second MSI Bracket Stage slot.

The fight was even, but could have been worse. GAM breaks open the game with the Rift Herald fight, but they overstay and give unnecessary kills away. The Atakan force was a strange fight, with FUR securing the objective, but GAM won the fight with two kills.
The first Baron of the game goes GAM’s way, but most of their time is spent defending and looking for picks instead of towers. Fights continued to break out, but none led to significant advantages. Tutsz keeps FUR in the game with a crazy Baron steal. The Mountain Soul and the power of friendship get the angle onto Ayu’s Smolder. They force everything out of the Dragon, giving them the space to win the fight, secure the Elder Drake, and end the game.

Aress subbed in again in place of Emo. GAM has flashbacks to yesterday’s game, with their bot lane struggling at level one. Fortunately, Artemis did not die, and Kiaya solo killed Guigo. FUR’s attempted dive on Kiaya failed, while Guigo could not reach the wave on bot lane. The map play from GAM allowed Artemis to catch up to Ayu. The game slowed to a snail’s pace as GAM kept their advantage.
FUR takes down Kiaya in back-to-back fights to regain some ground in the game. GAM force and secures Atakan but are crushed in the team fight thanks to Tutsz’s stolen Neeko ultimate. Another front-to-back fight goes in FUR’s favor, earning them a Drake and Baron. GAM tried to neutralize the Baron push, but with Guigo finding Levi, FUR ended the game 5v4.

FUR finds another miracle team fight on Drake to equalize the game. Tutsz Azir has a 3k gold lead on his lane opponent and is the win condition for his team. GAM had a chance to let the Drake go, but their never-say-die attitude backfired, giving FUR their first significant gold lead.
GAM continues to fight to the death, and they are rewarded. They secure a clean ace and Baron to get a 5k gold lead. The next significant fight is GAM’s, and they charge down mid-lane for Silver Scrapes.

- R5 – Gangplank
Summary
Levi follows up on the early Kiaya lane advantage to secure the kill on Guigo. FUR secured first Drake and Grubs, with Kassadin earning two kills. With the game slipping away because of FUR’s scaling, GAM finds the fight to earn enough of an advantage to break open the game. Levi stole Atakan from under FUR’s nose and continued to chase with Aress’ Orianna ultimate ability, winning the fight.
GAM secured a 7k gold lead, pulling far ahead of the scaling Kassadin. FUR’s Hail Mary Baron keeps them in the game, but they are facing an Infernal Soul. Up against the Elder Drake buff, FUR falls, but the ending is delayed because of a bug. The game was chronobreaked, but that did not matter, and GAM ended the series to stay in MSI.
Reaction
GAM and FUR fought tooth and nail to stay alive in MSI. Unfortunately for FUR, they could not ride the Kassadin scaling train to victory in game five. The South American representative should hold their heads high as they challenged veteran organizations in their first international tournament. For GAM, they will need to bring it all against G2 or BLG to qualify for the MSI Bracket Stage.
